For the purposes of the NFL, the foot is not a body part - knees, elbows, wrist, butt. Any one will constitute a catch. For feet, they both need to be down inbounds.

Different rule - based on a player going to the ground.

Fail.

The wrist must not be a body part or that DeSean fumble gets overturned. I thought I heard on the broadcast that the wrist is considered part of the hand which doesn't count?

their just announcing on nfl network that dean blandino is saying the dez catch, wasnt a catch last night, the NFL needs to get rid of dean blandino and now!

It clearly wasn't a catch Dez was diving to make the catch and the first body part that touched the ground was his elbow and it was out of bounds which equals no catch. Some of you either can't except the rules or don't know the rules.

The wrist/hand is an extension of the ball. If it goes down first and the ball comes out it is a fumble. The ruling was correct.

I hate that goombah Blandino but this thread is silly. It wasn't a catch Dez' elbow hit out of bounds before knee or butt touched.

By the way, I'm waiting for the first review which shows a players, ahem, stuff, hitting the ground first before anything else. How will they explain that lol

Is the, ahem, a body part? ;)

All Blandino had to say is two feet equal one body part. If he said a foot is not a body part, he should have clarified what he meant, but he's a buthole so...

The OP didn't include a link to prove which catch they are talking about so it's not even worth discussing. Dez had a sideline catch that was reviewed and ruled not a catch and he had a deep catch close to the end zone that was ruled a catch. A source link would be helpful.

Oh if it's the one about the elbow I'm fine with them calling that no catch.

It was close but I think it was fine to call it incomplete. I have no issue with that one.

At first I thought they meant on the long diving catch he made.

This whole catch not a catch is getting stupid. It's not just with the Cowboys either. The NFL needs to address the issue and make a hard and fast determination on what a catch is, that takes any and all intrepritation of of it.

I did not see that as a catch. It looked like his elbow touch out of bounds before his other body part.

Yes.

Now the other catch... You can see ball touch ground as he pulls it in. Might be too close to overturn but it was close.... (Wish he would have "pulled it in" green bay catch.

Ps. Dean Blandino has that face you want to punch repeatedly.

Dez was CLEARLY out of bounds on that play. His elbow hits out of bounds before he could get both feet down in the field of play.

The Dez "No Catch" from last year is OVER!!!

Let's move on.

Because some people have to dispute everything.

Not only that but there's this eternal quest to prove Blandino was wrong about the Dez "No Catch" as if bashing him incessantly or highlighting inconsistencies he makes is going to overturn the call in Green Bay last year.

get this, dean blandino never has refed on an nfl field, the nfl gave him that job because of the videoing he did for replay stuff etc,

Dean Blandino has NEVER reffed any sporting game. football, baseball, soccer, basketball. Not in the NFL, not in college, not in HS and not even a youth game........ Blandino works for John Mara and the NY Mob

Agree with you. The one was not a catch because his elbow hit out of bounds first

I really thought they were going to review the long one. He was bobbling it on the way down. I thought I even saw the ball hit the ground but the difference was Dez did a good job of pulling it in and covering it where you couldn't see much.

If they wanted to dig into video they could have said ball touched ground.
Dez had both hands on it ... But... They could caused problems for us... Fudgers.
