Meh, who cares? The dude clearly was after as much pay as he could get. He's 31 years old and looked over-the-hill last year for the Cardinals. Titans messed up. So glad Jerry stood his ground and didn't overpay for that has-been.
Cooks will be 30 this season. So he’s the savior for Dak, but D-Hop is washed up?

I agree he’s being paid a bit too much, but I can’t help wondering what the narrative would be on this board if it was the Cowboys who signed him

Cooks is still producing. Plus, he's 29 going on 30. Hopkins is already 31 and has had poor performances the past 2 seasons.

Hopkins was playing well last year until his injury.. It’s kind of strange to write him off. He played 9 games and had 717 yards. I’ll let him defend himself

https://www.nbcsports.com/nfl/profo...ill-retire-once-hes-not-a-1-000-yard-receiver

Hopkins, 31, has not had a 1,000-yard season since 2020, having played only 19 games the past two seasons, while missing 15 to a suspension and injuries. He made 106 receptions for 1,289 yards and 11 touchdowns the past two seasons combined.

Hopkins, though, said Thursday on social media that he will retire when he’s not a 1,000-yard receiver.

“I’ll retire from football when I’m not a 1k-yard receiver,” Hopkins said on threads. “With that said, I was on pace for 1,400 yards last year—one significant injury in 11 years. I might be playing till I’m 37 the way I feel.”

I guess that would depend. Since we can’t pay 12(15), it would mean we got us cheap and if we did, I imagine people would be pretty happy.

But we couldn’t and didn’t so it’s like OBJ. Aging WR getting a big check. Both of them in the AFC. I like it.

Not sure why a 31 year old would sign with the Titans, practically no chance of contending during what's left of his career.

Look, I know the answer is money but he's got millions so is a deal with the Titans rather than a little less with a contender going to make a difference to him 10 years from now?

I'm no professional athlete but I'm 99.999% certain I'd rather a shot at a ring at the end if I've made top dollar during a 10ish year career/ 80 million in the bank. Is 13 million over 2 years really going to matter over say, 10 million with KC? I don't see it.

Need a tissue?
Not you OfCourse, but anyone believing that he would have been.
Cooks is a fit, Hopkins would not have been.

I think he'd have done well here, but Cooks is a steal at 6 million, and his speed should help in several ways.

Good lord what? Look at my previous statement. I added the links to their career stats. Brandin Cooks by far has produced more than Hopkins, especially the past 2 seasons. It's not even close.
Would Cooks get what D-Hop just got? Serious question…

Way better? Buy some reading glasses and do your homework...

Look at their last 2 seasons of production. It's not even close who has produced more...

Hopkins only played 9 games last year and had Colt Mccoy and David Blough throwing him the ball. Had he not been suspended he was on pace for a 1300 yard season, what Ceedee Lamb did and something Cooks has never done even in his prime. Both of his first two games back he had double digit catches. Dude was on fire the moment he returned; Titans got a steal here

If he seriously asked for it and took his time to find the right suckered team? Absolutely! Look at his stats. Cooks is still lighting it up. Brandin Cooks accepted less to come play for the Cowboys because the Texans are still on the hook for $6 million from Cooks contract with them, plus the Cowboys are a contender, and he wanted out of Houston.

Poor Deandre. Wasted talent. He never had a chance to showcase his skills consistently with a top qb in his career.
Poor DeAndra? Lol He put up 1378 in 2017, 1572 in 2018 and 1165 in 2019 with Deshaun Watson. He also combined for 31 TDs those seasons. So much for not having a chance to showcase his skills with a top QB. He also put up over 1400 yards in 2020 with Kyler Murray who’s not exactly a scrub. Despite his QB situation he put up some big numbers over his career. No one should feel sorry for him.
