they dont have to talk to Martins people at all.. they have the option to deal with his contract on their own for a restructure... I heard that a month or so ago from Fisher.
It depends, if it's a simple restructure most of the time nothing is needed from player.

Then there are other types of restructuring to create voided yrs and restructure base salary into a signing bonus. And the number of voidable yrs depends on how ,any yrs you want to pro rate that sb for.

This is the type of restructure they're doing with Tyron since this is his last yr. So they're extending him and using part of his base salary this yr and converting it to a sb. And they can take this 2 ways, extend him on a new deal. Or simply taking part of his base in to a sb, but just adding voided yrs so they can spread that sb over multiple yrs starting in 2024 when the first voidable yr starts

It's confusing but not too bad

Jerry paid Cooper 20mil a yr. Only reason he was cut is because they didn't think he was giving them 20mil production. But he got paid 2 yrs of 20. Can't be too cheap
Hard to give production when the QB prefers to throw to Noah and Schultz or the rbs.

The Cardinals are reportedly asking a 2nd round pick and a conditional pick for Hopkins. Not sure our FO is likely to accept those terms. It should be interesting to see what we counter with if we're interested in getting him. There's no doubt he's talented but will the Cardinals asking price be worth it? Let's see what comes of this situation in the days ahead. Hopkins would likely be obliged to make his contract demands bearable too, no doubt.

Ideally a 3rd and one of our comp picks.

Yep, it'll depend on the competition, the fact the Bears may be out ,now they've got Moore, may help keep the asking price at a reasonable level.

Unless he's willing to play for the vet minimum and the cards are willing to take a 5th for him, This is never happening.

His market value is 23M. Define bearable. Jerry isn't paying that, or anywhere near that. The Cowboys aren't going to have two WRs making 20-25 million a year. The Cowboys, at best, pick up a WR at Gallup level money. If they even do that.

I'm good at criticizing Jerry for his lack of motivation. But I'm also glad he's not the same person that traded for Galloway.

Flexible on contract = you can pay me $20+ million a year in $20's, $100's, whatever bills you want.
