Hall does get beat a fair amount. A lot of that has to do with his willingness to gamble.
Owens and Chad Johnson have had good success against him, true. But both are damn good WRs. And both have pretty damn good QBs throwing the ball to them too... And the thing that Hall doesn't have, is a good pass rush helping him out. Especially this year.
Hall is young, athletic, and can make plays. In Dallas, he would be a #2 CB. He wouldn't have to go against the top WRs.... And I think Hall would be perfectly suited for that. He is still developing.
The biggest problem would be contract extensions for him and Newman...which is why I'd probably refrain from such a deal. But the reality of it is, he probably would make a good #2 CB opposite Newman. And as he continues to develop, it would give us an athletic CB tandem who could probably do good against any WR tandems the league has to offer.
