Pay The Man is the most stupid and childish thing to say.

Deion used to always ignorantly say that about Josh Cribbs. Did he ever apologize for that or stop with the stupid Pay The Man chant?

Why is it childish? He's simply using a simple phrase to highlight a salient point.

True, but lose Dez. With this current roster......

5-11 or 8-8, which = Hysteria on the Zone.

Maybe. I mean in the short term, that could absolutely be what we see happen but in the long term, I don't see that. If I new for a fact that it would win us a championship, it might be a lot easier to get on that train but this list kinda shows that signing a WR to landmark contracts doesn't really guarantee a team a championship.

I agree Long Term, it would benefit us.

Like I said in the other thread, if we get rid of Dez, and dump Romo. Get some young guys in with this O-Line. I'd be all for it.

Or Hall thinks it would be funny if the Cowboys destroyed their salary cap by drastically overpaying for 1 player.

That's what I'm thinking. Now what would Hall stand to accomplish if Dallas overpaid for Dez? Hmmmmmm.

I really don't think many players get caught up into that. Maybe quarterbacks. But players want to get paid, and they'll advocate for other players to get paid.

You're giving Hall too much credit.

We're talking about a guy who does the stupidest stuff on the field.

think you're giving hall to much credit as a thinker

I don't think it requires much thought. I would take more thought to actually accurately analyze all NFL WRs and compare them.

I think it's a general thought by most players that the more other players get paid the better. IMO, they see mega-contracts as pushing up the value of all other future contracts. They don't stop and think about the fact the the more the Star players get, the less there is available for everybody else.

towards the end of his career, I seriously doubt he's thinking about Dallas' cap. now is his opinion the end all be all, certainly not. I personally don't think much separates Dez, Julio, AJ Green, Antonio Brown, and Demarius, and maybe it's his familiarity with Dez that made him come to this conclusion, but players typically aren't worried about another team's cap.

Deion is just an idiot all around. It should be pretty much implied at this point that anything that comes out of his mouth is a stupid thing to say.

I doubt many athletes understand how the salary cap works. Their knowledge of finances is probably rudimentary at best. They probably see the owners as making a whole lot of money and can't understand why the owners can't share more.

I run into this in my field. I work for a major manufacturing corporation in the PR department. We have among the high salaries/wages within our industry. Yet our employees are always asking for more. They only see our profits and not how much we have to invest to improve and stay on the cutting edge in our industry, they don't see the outstanding benefits they receive, they don't understand that if we spend all our money on increasing salaries and wages, that will leave us in a bind when the economy dips - not to mention leaves us little room to reinvest in R&D for the future to remain relevant and viable in the future.

So do you want more money now and have our company relocate to another state or completely shut down in the future because we've invested much of our profit into increasing salaries/wages - even though we have a profit-sharing program where we pay employees a sizeable amount at the end of the year?

Some people just don't grasp basic concepts of business and think all profit should go to the employees.

I would think many athletes fall into this category also.

I despise no player more than DeAngelo Hall. Big mouth deadskin. I don't care what you have to say so shut up! You'd love for them Boyz to over pay for Dez.

You're right, Hall more than likely is just being honest. They go to war in their matchups. Only Calvin and MAYBE Julio give you that 60 minutes of pain.

I recall a couple of games where Hall got into Dez's head which got him off his game. He has no choice but to play mind games since he can't compete with Dez physically.

3 Rings

This is one of the main things that hurts WR's in the "WR's don't help win rings argument" and it shows how a lot of times, winning a championship is luck just as much as it is talent.

TO pushed Philadelphia over the edge to become a legit Superbowl contender, and had a huge game in the actual Superbowl, but his QB choked. Moss had a huge season for New England and for all intents and purposes, had a Superbowl ring secured before Eli Manning and David Tyree connected for one of the most improbable plays ever. Those instances don't mean elite WR's aren't worth the money, it just means sometime stuff happens.

Hall isn't even playing corner anymore so the ulterior motive angle is weak.
