What hurt Deangelo Hall is that he plays alongside the best cornerback in football. The guy has only been thrown at 10 times ALL SEASON lol. Amazing. So I think Hall's play may be a little blown out of proportion. But at the same time it wouldn't happen any different here. He'd get the same treatment here playing alongside Newman. No thanks. He's a overrated cornerback who thinks he's better than he really is.

And he has 3 INT's this year because like Biggems menitioned, he gets thrown at the majority of the game. A lot more than our cornerbacks.

Hall's season opener against Eddie Royal was one of the most atrocious performances I have ever seen by a corner. Not only was he toasted, it didn't seem like he cared that he was getting torched.

Here is why

In his eight games in Oakland, Hall was beaten 40 times for 552 yards on 66 passes thrown his way, according to data compiled by STATS LLC. He gave up more yards than any defender this season and was tied for third worst in catches allowed.

And the fact that the Raiders can't rush the passer wouldn't skew any stats for any of their CBs now would it. They are the worse team I've seen in a very long time.

Reeves got thrown at most every passing down in the Giants win in Dallas. He was targeted a great deal in most games. How many INTs did he get. And we had a very good pass rush most games.

He's not great or Pro Bowl quality by any stretch of the imagimation. He plays about like Henry does but still gets some picks. I'd say that's the low end of good. If you want to say high end of average then ok.

He'll play somewhere unless his money demands are ridiculous.

Not only was his play bad but he rubbed some coaches and players the wrong way. This is according to the Raiders flagship radio station. Apparently some of the coaches, players, and members of the organization including Al Davis did not appreciate it that he had some of his former Atlanta teammates over on Saturday night and he made some comments after the 24-0 loss that did not sit well with the Raiders. This is what some of the sports raidio talk shows have been saying out here in the Bay Area. We made think that things are not going well with our beloved Cowboys but the Raiders are getting creamed out here with the media. They have called them the worst professional sprots franchise.

Well I agree. But at the same time he gets thrown to more than probably any cornerback in the NFL. And I agree, I think Hall is better than some would liek to admit. He's a solid guy. Not a shutdown corner that some in the media projected he was. But for this team he's just not the right guy. And with Newman coming back i'm not sure if corner is a need to be honest. I know how that sounds but IMO, this teams problem is pass rush. The better the pass rush the better the coverage.

I've never seen a team trade a 2nd rounder for a player, give him a 72 million dollar contract than cut him. Its ridiculous.

Does anyone know why Hall was cut by the Raiders today, besides the huge bonus he was due next week? Hall has 3 ints. this year. He has always played tough, aggressive CB any time I've seen him play. Once he clears waivers, which everyone expects him to do, he will be available to any team. Once you get cut, your value goes WAY down to the rest of the NFL. I think he would be a valuable addition to a young secondary that obviously needs some toughness. Mike Jenkins still seems to be unclear of what he did so wrong Sunday. That speaks volumes about many of today's young pro athletes. He needs a veteran who will kick his behind if he ever tries something like that again.

another one who apparently doesnt see

I think w/ our record, Jerry is drawing a line in the sand about spending any more money on this squad.

He is officially an unrestricted free agent. Schefter speculates he is looking at NYG, WAS, DAL, NE.

signed with Washington wanted to be on a playoff team he says.

That's awesome. He can be on the Commanders one and done playoff team. That is assuming they take three NFC East teams to the playoffs, otherwise the Skins won't be there.

Your most recent history says 1 and done, just like Dallas. And, like I said, I wouldn't count on, just yet, you guys even being in the playoffs. If Dallas finally gets it's act together (obviously that's not a given and a complete toss up) you guys could be staring at the very real possibility of losing 3 out of 4 (Pittsburgh, Dallas, and Giants) and playing behind the 8-ball the rest of the year.

It should be a great game, either way. Lot riding on it for both teams.

The most recent history includes one wildcard win, so I'd say Washington has a shot to at least repeat that feat.

Beyond that though I don't see them being able to go far if they make it. In the tough NFC East attrition is going to be a ***** and a week of rest could make all the difference.

Washington does have the easiest schedule out of all of the NFC East teams but even with that they have one hell of a stretch left to even qualify.

Dallas is going to be tough to beat coming out of the bye week with some of their weapons back, and with the Eagles and the Giants still on the schedule it's not out of the question that they may drop three between their familiar opponents.

That leaves the Bengals, Ravens, Panthers and Seahawks. You figure Washington would have to beat at least 4 out of their remaining to qualify and that might not even be enough depending on how the Eagles and Cowboys fare down the stretch.
