The dark ages were only dark ages to the masses. Behind the scenes the people in power still advanced the technology of the times and that work still continues on today in secret. There are things that exist out there that are way more advanced than anything available to the average person and match the original time line of technological advancement. At least that is what conspiracy theorists say.

The wheel was the single most important invention. It was thought to be invented about 10k years ago. It alone makes almost everything invented today possible. Therefore, the biggest advancement in technology occurred 10k years ago. ;)

One thing that puzzles me about both Battlestar Galactica and Star Wars= how could there be so little technological progress in thousands of years?

I can't believe I'm posting in this absurd thread, but this statement was too outrageous to pass up.

All of you guys who are trying to compare Star Trek to Star Wars are missing one huge thing, and it's causing you to compare apples to oranges.

Star Wars is not set in the future... it's set in the past.

Don't any of you remember the first four words to appear in the very first movie?

A long time ago in a galaxy far far away...
