1 Johnathan Hankins Ohio St 6-3 #322 - our big man in the middle

2 Corey Lemonier, OLB, Auburn 6 - 4 #246 - pass rusher

3 Robert Lester, S, Alabama 6-2 #212 - a ball hawk

4 Braxston Cave, C, ND 6-3 #304 - a solid center

5 Rex Burkhead. RB, Neb 5-11 #211 - tough RB which we don't have

6 Blaize Foltz, G, TCU 6-4 #310

Foltz is credited with a bench press of 580 pounds, an 800 pound squat, an incline bench of 530 pounds and a 430 pound clean and jerk

if not Foltz take either

Zack Martin, OG ND, 6-4 #304
Chris Watt, OG, ND. 6-4 #310
John Wetzel, OT, BC, 6-7 #310

I'd be happy with Hankins in round 1, but will be screaming at the TV if we pass on o-line in rounds 2 and 3

Because of the nickel and other various alignments, the Cowboy only use a true NT on about half of the snaps.

Against the Eagles, the starting NT (Brent) only played 28 of 63 snaps.

Braxton Cave is a huge drop in talent from the OL that will be in the 2nd and 3rd rounds.

Blaize Foltz has terrible movement skills, IMO.

Other than that, how was the play Mrs. Lincoln?

IMO, Brent is an okay player and we shouldn't compare how we used him, to how we'd use a rookie NT.

11/04/12 - OG Blaize Foltz continues to be limited by a sore ankle, though he was back in the starting lineup at West Virginia after getting spotted in for about 15 minutes of action in the Oct. 27 loss at Oklahoma State

wonder if this had anthing to do with his movement

Foltz anchored an offensive line last season that paved the way for TCU to rank ninth nationally in scoring (40.8 points) and among the leaders in rushing (208.6 yards) and total offense (440.2 yards).
He was key in the Horned Frogs placing fourth nationally in third-down conversions (52.0 percent) and 15th in fewest sacks allowed per game (1.0). TCU scored at least 27 points in all 13 contests while producing three players with over 700 yards rushing

I really don't see Jerry drafting a O lineman in the first couple rounds

there no real top center this year

I see him sticking with what we got draft a couple in late rounds

and that would be unfortunate.

oh I agree - but I think Jerry thinks he hat got his lineman in house

I would like to spend a first rounder on one of the OG's

plus I think he thinks that costa will be fine - well IMO hes done

I'm fine with this-though I bet safety is going to be sacrificed in this draft and not the oline. They like Church and Johnson.

The Cowboys definitely need to address dline at some point early. Though I prefer Sheldon Richardson as a DL who could probably move inside on passing downs or Ansah if that's the way the go rd 1...but wouldn't be disappointed at all with a space eater like Hankins.

yea but you never know if church will make it back an we don't know what we got in Johnson

I have just started the long process of doing a mock this year not sure I will finish it

but I did read something about Sheldon Richardson

Is this directed at me?

I'm just giving my opinion on a mock draft that was posted on a message board. I was not criticising you personally.

By recruitment, I guess that you're referring to scouting because I don't have any opinions on recruiting high school players to college.

FYI, I would have to take a pay cut to be an NFL scout.

yes it was diricted towards you

but don't worry about it

have had a bad couple of weeks

a pay cut who won't

the only thing I did not like was this little remark

"Other than that, how was the play Mrs. Lincoln? "

Practice Squad players worth stealing

Charley Bryant OG / OT Memphis 6060 E 320 E 5.25 E San Diego Chargers

Justin Cheadle OG California 6024 290 E 5.20 E Pittsburgh Steelers

Antoine McClain OG Clemson 6054 329 5.48 Baltimore Ravens

Quentin Saulsberry C Mississippi State 6023 304 5.35 Denver Broncos

this why Jerry will not use a draft top pick on a OG or a C

Sorry, that was my attempt at self-depreciating humor. It was meant to be interpreted as "other than me be overly critical of your mock, how's your day?".

Sorry to hear about the pay cut.

I enjoy Russ Lande's series on Practice Squad players.

Not only do teams that are out of the playoff race get better draft pick positions, they also get the opportunity to cut veterans that won't return the following year and sign PS players to their active roster.

Here is another one in the series:

Brandon Washington was my biggest "miss" from the 2012 draft. I had him as a 3rd rounder.

http://www.nationalfootballpost.com/NFC-West-Practice-Squad-Breakdown-Part-2.html

5. Brandon Washington OG Miami 6027 320 5.21 St. Louis Rams Practice Squad
An extremely strong and powerful offensive lineman, Washington is adjusting to playing inside at guard after playing tackle his final season at Miami. While he definitely could have improved his draft stock if he had stayed for his senior season, he is still an excellent developmental guard prospect. With the flexibility to bend knees and sink hips, Washington can easily pass block with good base. This allows him to slide well side to side in a small area to adjust to quick change of direction pass rush moves. He uses his violent hands well to jolt defensive lineman and is consistently able to “get a good fit” in order to keep man pinned on line in pass pro and to get movement on in-line run blocks. If Washington does not learn to compete harder on every snap and play with better intensity he will never take advantage of that talent he has. Washington has all the tools to become a good starting guard for the Rams who are in desperate need of one.

yes I don't understand Jerry and the O line unless Callahan thinks he's got what he needs

why not keep the PS churning

I mean BP cut Harvey Dahl who is now getting

7/29/2011: Signed a four-year, $16 million contract. The deal included an initial roster bonus of $3 million. 2012: $3 million (+ $1 million roster bonus), 2013: $4 million, 2014: $3.5 million (+ $500,000 roster bonus), 2015: Free Agent

IMO he much better than Livings and Bernadeau

well we difinately need better scouts for the trenches
