Huge Stallone mark growing up. After seeing this movie in he theater, I wanted to be a truck driver. My dad then goes around the local truck stops and snaps pics of all kinds of peterbuilts, kenworths, macks, etc. haha

For me, the 80's had a bunch of great underrated movies

Cannery Row - Nick Nolte and Deborah Winger. Nolte plays a marine biologist that lives on skid row in the 1940's, but used to be a professional baseball pitcher that quit during his prime, It's a funny movie with plenty of quirky characters.

Eating Raoul - Kind of a cult classic, dark comedy. A couple finds a unique way of funding their dream of opening a small restaurant.

World According to Garp - A great Robin Williams dark comedy, a bunch of funny and twisted moments. John Lithgow plays an ex-pro football player that had a sex-change operation.

After Hours - A Martin Scorsese directed dark comedy. One guy's night starts bad and gets worse. Cheech and Chong even make a few appearances in the movie.

Where the Buffalo Roam - Bill Murray as Hunter S. Thompson.

Not in the 80's but still some underrated movies

The Duelists - A Ridley Scott directed movie from the late 70's starring Harvey Keitel and Keith Carradine. An insult between two Napoleon era army officers sparks a lifelong feud and they duel throughout their lives as they cross paths.

Brotherhood of the Wolf - Made in 2001, a beast is terrorizing the French countryside and the french king sends two men to investigate. Has some nice cinematography and some pretty cool fight scenes.

The 13th Warrior - Antonio Banderas plays an exiled Arab nobelman that joins a group of Vikings to fight an ancient evil. Some great action and fight scenes, those Vikings are some bad muthers.

A late 70's movie but I always liked it. It has Jerry Reed and Dom DeLuise called "Hot Stuff".

About 1985-1995 was great.

You have some 80's classics like Predator and Lost Boys, combined with movies like Pulp Fiction, Dumb and Dumber, and Forrest Gump.

I think 1994 was probably the greatest year for movies, ever. Pulp Fiction, Forrest Gump, Shawshank Redemption, Lion King, True Lies, The Mask, Speed, Dumb and Dumber,

I see your 1994 and raise you 1939. Gone with the Wind, Mr. Smith Goes to Washington, The Wizard of Oz, Stagecoach, Ninotchka, The Hunchback of Notre Dame, Goodbye Mr. Chips, Young Mr. Lincoln, and several other really good movies.

Good list and fits the same types of movies I grew up on. Higher Learning, Three Amingos, Waynes World, TMNT, Bronx Tale and Grandma's Boy/Beerfest for tha stoners Higher Learning got rushed out of theatres bc of the clock tower/content, Bronx Tale was a different Mob movie than most but enjoyed it, and you are right on point with your description of TMNT part 1. I rewatched it as an adult and didn't realize how mature the theme/content was @ the time. Loved Jack as the more "comic" Joker in Batman and Kim Bassinger has put to shame all the female leads since.

The older movies are great but they seem to be "filmed plays" in comparison. It almost shames me that I let that bother me from the content, but it does...
