Deebo Samuel traded to Washington

I thought Dak was supposed to be blamed for roster moves and all the other ineptness. What's going on?

We don’t have the cap $$$ for Deebo.

We will be lucky to keep some of our own UFAs.
Actually, I think it's good that Deebo wasn't pursued. Not much left in the tank. The fact that SF took a 5th tells you all that's needed. Just thought the board would stay with the narrative to blame Dak for everything and the weather......kudos for dismissing this move and not believing the hype that it's a blockbuster trade......it's not.

whenever I see other teams make a trade for a player I think about the trades Jerry has made and it is like another slap in the face. We gave up 4th round picks for Mingo and Lance. We got a 5th for Cooper after paying a 1st for him. We gave up a 6th for Jordan Phillips and a 7th from NY, had him on the roster for 3 weeks and cut him. Jerry Jones is the worst deal maker I have ever seen.

The whining never ceases any time any player is traded anywhere. Deebo stunk last year for a team that desperately needed him to contribute. I would not want Deebo if he were a free agent and required no trade compensation. Trading for him goes hand in hand with giving him a new contract and if you think he is looking for a deal to match his level of play from last year you are delusional.Thank goodness we didn't trade for him and the fact that we made an asinine trade for Mingo is irrelevant. That's a sunk cost.

I also think we need to keep in mind every team in the NFL is trying to improve, just like we want the Cowboys to try to improve.

This is a deep draft at some positions, for example. But it is a deep draft for every team in the league. About 15 teams are going to draft a quality RB this April even if Dallas take one too. The draft is not about getting ahead. It is about keeping up.

If Washington does trade Jon Allen they will recoup more money from his outgoing salary than they will pay for Deebo’s incoming salary, and will most likely receive a higher draft pick for Allen than they gave up for Samuel.

And again—Deebo’s salary in Washington will be $17 million, not $22 million.

Bigger name than game at this point. But still a valuable gadget player. I felt Washington could have done better here given their salary cap space available.

This a great move from SFs standpoint getting rid of a declining player and bloated salary relative to production, while getting a draft pick in return

The player has little left in the tank. That's not the point. I want to know if we called the niners to ask? Not trying is what I have issues with. It's being lazy and smug. The great run teams always make all calls, take the calls, and look under every rock. We usually sit on our hands and let leaves fall...whatever the heck that means. But Mark this, barring injury, Deebo will muster enough to beat us when he plays us. We never have an answer for him.

Doesn't really matter. We don't have the QB nor the complete team needed to be a true contender. Coast thru the remaining Dak era while getting young & cheap. Might be in a position to be aggressive with a real QB.
