Deep Ball?

I'm watching every quarterback today and half of them have taken at least 4-5 deep shots during the game.

New Orleans game no deep passes despite a secondary that struggled. Against GB we had some big plays but it was more when the plays broke down.

First 3 games of the year we used the deep ball. If you wanna pay dak 35 mi a year we have to be willing to throw the ball down the field. Hopefully we get back to doing it again today.

The NO game plan was goofy.

But Gallup was out, and Cooper was ineffectual against man coverage from a rookie.

Combine that with the generally accepted failure of the calls against NO, and I don't expect us to so limit the deep balls again.

Dak also needs to not force it deep but take the underneath route to the RB when open.

Also, a good seam route to the TE (Jarwin) would be nice to see.

Well you're without both starting OTs today. No promises you will have 4-5 seconds for the deeper routes to open up. It'll be interesting to see the game plan today.

You don't think they tried these things already, and will continue to try?
It's football, that's what every team do, take what the defense gives you.
Execute your play, and if the defense makes a critical mistake, such as a blown coverage, missed-tackle, wrong alignment, then it's a big gain, or a TD, for the offense.

With both tackles put today protection may be an issue. I wouldn’t expect a lot of deep throws

I would bet Dak is top 3 in the league throwing it deep this year...that has not been the problem.

OL is banged up as someone already stated. He doesnt have a ton of time for the receivers to get separation. We just havent got near the push from the OL this year. Heck look at Zeke. He hasn't been near as productive this year.

The only sack they had today was when Dak was trying to go deep. There simply was no time to stay in the pocket.

Part of the problem would be the grasping of excuses about who is out of the game......every team has injuries. Sam Darnold came badk from Mono, anxious to play against this team...….'Boys on film that every Coordinator is laughing about.

The NO game yielded no attacks on Eli Apple.
