I don't think anyone is complaining about the way he's protected the ball last year or over his entire career here; they're complaining about how he's done it the last few games.

Also, it should be okay to criticize the QB. Of course it's not all his fault and of course he's still a good player. I haven't seen anyone say that Romo should be benched. But would Parcells have shrugged off Tony's Chad Hutchinson-like ball security of late? I don't think so.

If you project fumbles simply based on this years stats you're likely to get an inaccurate projection. Having played only 6 games there just isn't enough statistical evidence to point out any reliable trends. Take last year for example, if after 6 games we had projected Romo's INT total we would have got 24. Of course, in reality, he threw 19. Statistical anomalies have too large of an effect when a small sample of data is used.

And it's fine to criticize your QB but that criticism has to be put in perspective.
