Defense will take time to gel. They should have played in preseason

I told ya'll it will be growing pains mainly on defense. What did surprise me was how bad the offense played and even Aubrey missed a 40 yard FG.

We were bad in all phases of the game yesterday.

And the Giants got a lot of lucky bounces that could have changed the game. We forced 4 fumbles and recovered only 1 of them and 2 just weirdly bounced right in the Giants players hand. If we could have at least got 2 or 3 of those fumbles, this could have been a different game.

Also man do we love to commit dumb penalties at great times. We down 2 TD's and Williams does a stupid taunting penalty. We will lead the league in penalties or will be top 5 in penalties again.

We should have played our starters in preseason to get them game speed and used to tackling. Especially on defense. Our defensive starters should have gotten preseason snaps due to a lot of new players, new coaches and new scheme. Just an all bad around game. Basically our preseason game.

Our defense, barring a big injury, will be better as we go along.

They treat week one as the preseason, which is might be fair to do considering the length of the season.

But it fails to provide players with the basics of conditioning and just plain ol’ remembering what it’s like to get hit.

Yup
3rd level dropped way too far vrs 2nd level in the zones.
Colonsworth pointed out the corners in zone stopped dropping totally... way to shallow, even though no one in area.
That left safeties tooo deep, huge hole 20 yards sideline that Dart hit repeatedly.
