While Eberflus has rightfully caught all the heat over the pitiful defensive scheme. I haven’t heard a peep about the position coaches.

Dave Bargonzi: Linebackers Coach, A truly pitiful showing from this group of linebackers. Players like Luifau that looked promising last year seemed to regress. Kenneth Murray has been an epic fail.

Andre Curtis: Defensive Passing Game Coordinator. Pass defense rated dead last.

David Overstreet: Secondary/Cornerbacks
Every corner we have rolled out this year has looked terrible.

Darian Thompson: Secondary/Nickels
Maybe not quite as bad as the corners, but they have left a lot to be desired.

Aaron Whitecotton: Probably the best of the bunch as the DT play has improved. I would criticize the DE development though. Sam Williams has massively regressed and should not be resigned. Ezeiruaku has flashed at times, but hasn’t improved as much as we would have hoped.

The DT play has improved because we added an all pro DT, not because of anything Whitecotton has done.

Our pass rush is the worst it’s been in over a decade. We may end up having to look back to 2005 to find a year with fewer sacks unless they get a couple in the last two games.

i'm for ditching the entire defensive squad and have the new (and very hopefully improved) DC bring in his own asst. staff.

I've the strong feeling Jones gonna want an experienced proven vet DC but the pickings is incredibly thin

Jim Swartz - Cleveland ? (could be canned with whole coach staff)

Brian Flores - Vikes (we would have to change to 3-4)

Al Harris - has did wonders for undermanned secondary in Chi-town, but never been an X's & Os' DC. zero experienced as DC.

- Definite No to Arron Glenn and Steve Wilkins, imo

How about we fire the entire defensive staff, and let Schotty hire HIS OWN DC, and let the DC hire his position coaches? What a novel idea, huh?
The Jones are still too paranoid about McCarthy disaster of hiring his own DC in Mike Nolan .... thus we win or fail by the Jones ruling iron hand, and not the HC.

And that's what happens when you lack talent.

I'm just flummoxed at how so many don't understand talent in the NFL and what it means. Did Bill Belechick suddenly forget how to coach back in 2017 w/ the 29th ranked D that Foles threw all over in the super bowl?

Sooooooooooooooo, all our position coaches suck on D. Yeah, that's it.

Interesting how the DT coach is rated the best after adding Clark and Williams. Do you see how dumb that sounds???

I dont think anyone would disagree that this defense lacks talent. The issue still remains with just how bad the Cowboys defense has been though. Outside of the DL is there a single player on this defense that we can say has played to their potential or has shown improvement as the year has gone on? I'm willing to give Overshown an injury/sample size pass, but is there a single LB on this roster that has shown us anything? Liufau looks to be regressing. Murray was never very good but somehow looks worse. Sanborn was never very good but looks worse in Dallas. James has been horrible. Wilson is clearly in decline and a waste of a draft pick, but also hasnt been worth anything in Dallas. DB is the exact same issue where you can go down the roster and it doesnt matter if its veteran players (Diggs/Bland/Hooker/Wilson) or younger/developmental players (Thomas/Bell/Carson/Revel/Steward/etc) they've all fallen short of expectations even when those expectations have not been very high.

Outside of Whitecotton I would fine with the entire staff moving on. Whitecotton has at least shown some progression in a young guy like Eze. Hes done a nice job of maximizing players like Houston/Clowney/Thomas as well. Yeah Sam Williams has been pretty bad, but hes always been pretty bad. You'd also like to see more sacks from his DL, but a Matt Eberflus defense has never produced many high sack guys either.

hey mary! Merry Xmas Mary! Now that the pleasantries are over.....you are gonna get Whitecotton as your DC and you are gonna like it.

Expect another Dan Quinn type. Former HC with a successful track record as a dc. Bowles, Schwartz, Flores should all be at the top of the list if available

I said this before the entire defensive staff should be let go based on performance the day after the season ends . Let these men find work elsewhere Jerry should not do his annual let coaches twist in the wind BS .
