The game really will come down to whether or not we get consistent pressure vs Rodgers and force a couple turnovers and get some 3 and outs. Thankfully-- the Pack are hurting along the OL and have given up 15 sacks in 4 games. We should be able to harass AR-- but will it be enough to get the W?

Our offense needs to be efficient and keep the Pack playing from behind. Keep the crowd in the game-- gain some confidence-- and make them one dimensional. If Irving, Collins, and Lawrence can generate push rushing only 3-- we can clog n cover and hopefully limit giving up the huge plays AR makes his living on.

As much as they are gonna want to be aggressive-- we simply CANNOT lose contain on him. That's when he feasts. Stay disciplined and stay in your gap. We have the skill up front to get him on the ground consistently if we don't over-pursue and let him dance around.

I want to see AR on the ground... often.

I just don't have any faith that our offensive line can create enough holes for our offense to sustain drives. And Dak can't do it himself.

So I expect much of the same... We look good one drive and hit a big play, followed by a 3-and-out.

I miss the days of the 15-18 play, 8 minute drives where we break the opponents will

In saying that, I think the defense will be on the field too much, get gassed, and start getting gashed.

Need to keep the crowd out of it, as I think it could be one of these half GB fans, half waiting to something from Dallas to cheer for.
LOL.

I did notice several times last week, the crowd were cheering more loud when we went for it on 4th down, and for the 2 point conversion. Sometimes on D they were loud. You seen Dak, and one of the OL motioning to the crowd to quiet down.

I do not recall any players on D pumping up the crowd.

After mauling the Rams on the ground in the first half we ran the ball 7 times in the 2nd half.

BTW, ignoring the schmuck above, I still think we rally to beat the Packers. Their wins haven't been impressive and even if they get some players back, so do we. As OP stated, the key is to controlling the clock on offense which I think we can do. I don't place much stock in stats this early in the season but IIRC their D is 19th against the rush, that's not good, especially considering the teams they've played.

This does scream one of those games that Dallas fans think they can't win and no one gives us a shot and we pull it out. How we do it? I have no idea.

Yup. I'm not saying it's a guarantee, I think it will be close and could go either way but I also think we have the slight edge IF we can control the clock. I'd say we can't let them get ahead or we're f'ed because we'll be forced to pass every play but, as I've said in a previous post, I think McCarthy is an extremely over rated coach and our comeback last year was more due to him getting away from what worked in the first half and taking his foot off the gas trying to be less aggressive....like us in the Rams game.

Because we didn't have the ball the second half. Time of possession is nothing like last year.

And 5 of the 7 went for 3 yards or less, with Switzer getting 3 and Elliot getting 16,5,2,1,0,-1. If we get the 5 yards on first down like we did last year, it's very likely we run a LOT more in that second half.

AR gets put on the ground often and still wins. Like you said, 15 sacks and they are 3-1. I think this game comes down to turnovers.

Wouldn't you be missing the days of last year???? That happened a lot then if I'm not mistaken.

We can't rotate d line as much as usual because Arid will quick snap us to death. Gotta play our top 4 most of the day. Dlaw, Collins are sure bets, who are the other two. I say Irving and Moore.

I think we carry all of our 9 non-IR (sorry Tapper) DEs onto the active roster. Taco will be there in case Irving is a little rusty.

  • Rodgers is gonna catch us with 12 men on the field while trying to substitute. There will be a thread bashing Garrett for not having us prepared for that.
  • Green Bay tight ends will have a big day
  • zeke will get his 100 yds

Maintain containment...don't let AR rollout and get our likely porous secondary in more of a bind then they'll already be...oh...and blitz the crap out of him!
