And Spencer had had many sacks nullified by dumb penalties and bad calls by the stats keeper. Eli ran out of bounds behind the LOS and Spencer did not get the sack? He's been so damn close so many times ! :)

Spencer's a great rusher. The MVP though is Ware. Probably in the top 3 at his position if not number 1. It's even more amazing considering he has hurt wrists, foot and the neck issues.

Ware is probably the best player on the team as a whole. Right now he's profiling as a hall of fame level player.

Spencer and Ratlif are having good years. So is Jenkins, but the most valuable and least replaceable player on the defense is Ware.

Spencer has been a hell of a lot better than people give him credit for; his future is bright

I agree. I think he actually does some things just as good or better than Ware but one is not pass rush. Its not a slight on him its just Ware is a beast. But I actually think Spencer is better against the run than Ware is. Spencer has had a good year and if anyone wants to consider him DMVP i'd disagree but i'd definately consider him after Ware and Spencer. He's been just as good as Mike Jenkins has and better than Keith Brooking IMO.

I think there's an argument to be made for who's the best defensive player on the team in Ratliff and Ware. Both are GREAT players.
