The two positions that we were all most alarmed about for our defense — tackle and safety...haven’t been much of a problem in the first two games.

Many here were worried about getting gashed up the middle...and we still might...but no hint of that has shown forth through two games. And the safety play hasn’t been bad.

The safety situation seemed perhaps more dire and that was before Xavier Woods went out w/injury.

Dallas has allowed very little running up the gut and the overall pass defense has been pretty good. We’ll face other—perhaps bigger challenges on this front but its nice to know we are half way through Irving’s suspension. And Xavier’s return is getting closer.

I probably dont understand Marineli' tackle schemes enough and fall back on strong beef to stop the rush but
we've been mostly good at inside rush for a while. He [Marinelli] keeps finding DT that hold the fort.
I would love a Kawann Short anyway.

They have faced two mediocre to bad offenses thus far but they do look to be well beyond last season. I like the aggressiveness so far and can get better. The D is far more progressed than the O at this point. We will see over the next few games what they are really made of. They are going in the right direction.

I don't think this defense is of the shut-down type though, the offense will need to get better.

Panthers offense doesn't look bad to me at all.

I don't feel like the DT are contributing much, but they aren't hurting us, and given the price for them, that's a win.

Still waiting on Irving.

Except for the number of bodies, and Frazier being the only real SS, I wasn't that worried about S.

My preferred starters were Heath and Frazier anyway. Both are playing well. Heath is no surprise, but I wasn't that confident that Frazier was ready.

Both looking good. Between the two, we've got a pair with real size and speed.

Not contributing much? Three sacks so far, which is good from DT position. Forced fumble in game one. And we’ve given up very little run yardage up the middle.
