Deion: I love Jerry and believe in Jerry. But I love Boulder

Deion is making less than $6 million a year at Colorado. Jerry doesn't have to double that number.

If he wants him. He’s not going to Dallas for next to no raise . He’s in a position to tell Jerry what he wants or he’s staying put . That statement is the opening move .

His best shot at that this year (team with an opening) would be the Raiders, but other QB-starved teams before them are liable to take him.
The problem is teams are not waiting until May to hire a head coach because most of them will be signed by then.

I doubt Deion would leave Colorado until Shadeur is officially on a team because a lot could happen between now and the draft.

I think it would take $8 million to $10 million, but not an outrageous amount (by NFL standards) before Sanders doesn't have any NFL skins on the wall. All I'm saying is the cost isn't going to be ridiculous because of what he's making now. What McCarthy was making after accepting his contract five years ago could be what Sanders would make now.

I'm interested in seeing what Vrabel got from the Patriots since that gives us something to gauge it against. Vrabel was making $9.5 million per year in Tennessee.

My guess is that Jerry called Deion for one reason and one reason only. To let the conversation leak so the media talks non-stop about the Cowboys. There’s no mutual interest and this has zero chance of happening. This is 100% a spotlight grab by Jerry.

I think he'll go if he gets the right offer. He got to coach his sons and now he can make the jump to the NFL, where they will be.

Not sure if you have been keeping up with his comments over the last year but he really doesn't think he would enjoy coaching in the NFL.

He has said many times that he much prefers coaching college players over NFL players and that's why I have said I think the only way he goes to the NFL, at least any time soon, would be if he could coach his son, Shadeur.

The best way to do that would be to wait a year, let a team draft him and see how that team does.

If they do well, then Deion remains a college coach. If Shadeur's NFL team does poorly then he might consider moving to the NFL to coach his son's team.

Given Deion's attraction to the spotlight throughout his career, if he was not going to coach his son's team, I think the Cowboys would be at the top of his NFL wish list to coach.

The fact that he has basically said he's happy at Colorado after taking with Jerry further confirms that he's happy being a college coach and the only likely way that would change would be if he could coach his son.

Even then, I think he would only do it if Shadeur's team is not doing well.

Vrabel has a talented young QB more money under the cap than any team and pick 4 in the draft . Look for a playoff run next season

Very good chance the Titans, who pick #1, will draft Shadeur after Levis turned out to be a bust and got benched for freaking Mason Rudolph.

But I dont think the Titans are in the market for a new head coach, even next year. They just hired Calahan's boy.

I was thinking Sanders goes to NY with the 3rd pick and be can throw to Nabors play Dallas twice a yr . NY would make father happier then a Titans Jersey & obscurity

That is true .. and there's also no guarantee Deion would be successful in the NFL either.

Troy Aikman may have a better pulse on the situation than jerry and stephen.

anybody that takes the job will have to work with the coaching staff that jerry picks for them

they'll have to work with the players jerry wants for his team

will have to have jerry hovering before and after every practice, game, and other situations.

2024 has shown that Jerry is an incompetent GM and meddling owner and stephen is the same

Fair enough. I won't say I've kept up with Sanders. I just don't know if he's had a reason to consider the NFL up to this point, so why say that you'd be interested in doing it when that offer might never come? Instead, happy with where I am and what I'm doing is the generic response most coaches give.

Good points.................I will say this, I think Deion can handle Jerry landing his chopper on the field in the middle of practice better than Boy Wonder KM.

I'm trying to look for the positives as I try to talk myself into this being a good idea.

Someone mentioned 7 mill per yr with Deion plus Jerry buying out his Buffalos contract at 8 mill . 7 is laughable . Double that number .
Especially when Jerry gave Arkansas 100 million in NIL money last year. It's not about the money with Jerry......it's all about perception and control.

And how much is it going to cost to move up to the Titans spot? As they say in Texas....Go big.....or go home.
