Fair enough. I won't say I've kept up with Sanders. I just don't know if he's had a reason to consider the NFL up to this point, so why say that you'd be interested in doing it when that offer might never come? Instead, happy with where I am and what I'm doing is the generic response most coaches give.
Yeah, but this wasn't your typical short, "Happy where I am" types of comments. He's gone into depth why he prefers coaching college players and that was long before the Cowboys job was even a possibility.

He has been consistently saying he prefers coaching college players because they are more coachable and he enjoys helping them become better men even outside of football.

Unlike in the past, the NFL is not the ultimate goal for all coaches any more. I think over the next ten years you are going to see a lot more NFL coaches choosing to coach college teams instead of making that a backup plan when they cannot get an NFL coaching position.

That's possible. I don't believe Colorado is Deion's ultimate goal, though, so we'll see how much he prefers coaching college players. Does he stay at Colorado despite losing both his sons and possibly the No. 1 pick in the draft? I mean, I don't know who he has got to step in, but losing two early first-round draft picks makes it likely that there is a fall-off that could affect Sanders' stock for other jobs. Of course, maybe he loves Colorado and I'm completely wrong.

I read this as................."I love Boulder, but if you put some more money on the table I might just love the idea of coaching the Cowboys more".
