Never liked him as a commentator. He was cringe-worthy.
But his access to players is second-to-none. And Deion is a LEGEND when it comes to kids from the black community who want to play football.
EVERYBODY still knows Deion, even though he hasn't been playing for years.
Everyone wants to be like Deion.
Hate him if you want, but he FOREVER changed the way kids view the cornerback position.
I've seen it with my son and kids nationwide who play these 7 on 7 tournaments. Deion and Randy Moss.

He was a pretty good grifter in that same community with his foolish school also.

When you self promote your whole life 24x7 people will know who you are.

Amazing player, terrible television personality, worse person.

Why is he a worse person? I just don’t understand u guys calling Deion a bad person. Seriously, what has he done that makes him a bad guy? I’m curious. Is it the failed school? I mean at least he tried to help young kids. He had no idea what he was doing but his heart was in the right place. Yea he failed and it cost some kids to have eligibility issues or whatever but many of those kids did recover and if you want to blame someone blame the parents who allowed their kids to go to a school run by retired star CB. Is it his cockiness that make him a bad guy? The man may have talked the talk but he also walked the walk. He had the right to be cocky. If you didn’t like it u could have changed the channel and watch Blossom. Deion is not a bad guy dude. I know you probably are going by what you have heard people say about him (people who have never had a single conversation with the guy) or what you see on TV (which is entertainment) but Deion is actually a very cool person if u meet him. He is actually a very generous person.

i know some people that have worked with him. I will just say he sucks and leave it at that.

also he was the ultimate front runner. He was mr. atlanta but he took off and joined the 49ers and then Dallas.

The fact that so many young fans think he was a part of the cowboys dynasty is pretty sad to me. He was a johnny come lately who ended up causing all kinds of harm to the cowboys organization.

I've never understood why anyone cares what he says or how he became so important to everyone.

Seriously how come you know what kind of person he is ?

Do you know him in private ? Do you have any kind of relationship with him that could justify your judgement ?

Please give some examples for what kind of damage/harm he caused to the Cowboys.

He was no Irvin when it came to work. Read all the books, they all pretty much say the same thing. His talent was un-equaled, but he was not a hard worker and the younger players saw that and thought that they could do the same. Still the best CB that I have ever seen play, dam good punt returner too.

do your research.

he turned the young players against the coaches, then he turned players against players...he insinuated that Troy Aikman was a R....T. He was awful here and changed the work ethic. They went from being one of the hardest working teams to a bunch of We are going to show up and win because we are the cowboys....that was all deion.

and when things went wrong he blamed everyone else and never accepted blame which was another trait that was the opposite of the core of this team prior to him being here. When they would lose in the jimmy years everyone would blame themselves across the board and vow to outwork everyone. Deion was like...well I didn't throw an interception or fumble so don't ask me..

He was the worst. If he was even close to what he pretended to be all these years he would have stayed in Atlanta and did whatever it took to build a winner.

Agree, he played with my brother on the niners had the chance to meet and talked with him often and his family. Set with his family and Merton Hanks fam at the SB against the Chargers. It was funny because my sister inlaw first cousin was Harrison playing for SD.

Loved Deion & Michael Irvin as players but can't stand them in broadcasting.
