Additionally, ya never heard anyone criticize Sanders as a teammate.

I've only seen 2 players criticize TO as a teammate, and one who hasn't, and reports from Bledsoe that others didn't have a problem w/ him, honestly, I don't think TO was that bad of a teammate, sure, he went about his contract situation the wrong way

Well, lets see, the only receiver I can remember having any kind of a big day against Deion was Rice when they played a regular season game in Dallas in the mid-to-late 90s. And I don't consider TO to be on Rice's level. And the play in particular I am thinking of was the slant Rice ran and scored from 50 or 60 yards out with Deion chasing him.

Can you remember anyone having big games against Deion?
There is a reason he is considered one of the all time greats at his position.

That was the game year where Elivs Grbac started at QB for the first time and Dallas was supposed to kill the 9ers and make up for the NFC Championship game defeat the year before... Dallas got whipped that game... That particular play you're referring to was when Woodson fell down diving at the feet of Rice right before he made the end zone... Aikman got whipped by the 9er DL.

I absoutely loved having Primetime...I liked his antics, because he could back it up...and he did!

What I like most about Primetime is when he signed that big contract with the RedStinks...and then he quit on them while LiL Danny Snyder still owed him 6 mil...

He came out to the press and told them, "Tell Mr. Snyder I love him."

Primetime, at least to me, is so cool...and slick, too! And a damn good football player...

I remember when Deion ran off as a Commander... Marty Schottenheimer was coming in to coach the Skins for his one whole year... Deion didn't want to play Martyball.

Deion did wonders for our defense. Enabled us to swing the double team on the otherside and allowed us to run plays using his athletic abilities.

TO will have the same impact on our team on offense.

Both players came with baggages. I did not particularly like Deion coming in as a Cowboy. But I outgrew it and it turned out for the better.

The same with TO. Most here will forget his troubling past once he starts to produce on the field.

Both players talked alot. Both players however, can produce on the field as well. Honestly, I think we should be fortunate for both.

Also, remember Woodson was in his prime during those years too... Top secondary for years and years in the 90's with Sanders, K.Smith, and D.Woodson.

Dieon was great, but just not the one we got. Dallas Cowboy Sanders lived off reputation, solely. A shadow of the former player he used to be before coming to us. And lucky for that 'reputation' cause he sure liked to 'play' "injured" alot during his stint with us.

We are getting a TO in his prime. Someone who has defied age and just keeps pushing his game to the next level...never using an excuse.

All I can ever think of Dieon is, "my toe hurts-my toe hurts", ugh. Though I was a big supporter of his when we got him. I'm just comparing the player we got VS the player they were before us. Hands-down, TO, is that player we are paying top dollar for and I just don't think we got the greatest deal with the declining Dieon at the time. But talk about a coup for us when Switzer stole him for us from the '9ers at that Pro Bowl! I swear, that's like one of the most priceless moments in NFL history seeing Barry over on the bench, not coaching the game, just recruiting the best, lol.

Don't count the timeframe between the two players, because both players have broken the Cowboys hearts or to put it bluntly...(completely P.O.'d the most passionate fans) in some form or another...

Example 1...Deion's flashy dashy performance in the NFC Championship Game before SB XXIX, even getting that non call for obvious pass interference on Irvin.

Example 2... Terrell Owens posing on the star in Texas Stadium at midfield with the 49ers, and posing on the endzone star as an Eagle during that crushing MNF defeat...

Which player between the two would you embrace more wearing the silver and blue...

Well, I'd agree that in his last year or so with the Cowboys, Deion became less effective. And his contract led to major salary cap problems. But he was still very very special during those first years - in fact, he may have hit is peak in those years.

His TD run (on a reverse) vs. the Eagles in the playoffs broke open that game and was critical to the Cowboys making it to Super Bowl XXX. The long catch in Super Bowl XXX was important. Plus, Deion was a major reason why Larry Brown had the opportunity to defend (and pick off) so many passes.

And later Deion had some very impressive games. He turned in one of the most impressive ever MNF performances (vs. the Giants, I believe).

But yes, I agree, the stationary bike on the sidelines did get a little old ....

This is one that can't be answered until TO is thru playing with the Boys..then you can compare the two..

Deion was a great player, but did he single-handedly transform our team from pretender to contender? Did he take the defense to a different level?

No. We won two Super Bowls before he got there with Larry Brown at corner.

You could argue that Owens' presence took the Eagles team and offense that extra step to get to the Super Bowl. If Owens does that and takes our offense to a new level, then I would take Owens.

We'll just have to see.

I am surprised people don't remember this and how much everyone got into that argument. I know I had several arguments about in both DMN and other boards about it. I hated Deion ever since those statements.

Thats when people started bashing Troy a lot more too.
