Demarco Murray went from one of the worst RBs in the NFL - soft and unreliable - to a FORCE. In just one season. Extremely unusual.

I'm sorry, but what? Murray ran for over 5 yards per carry last year. And it wasn't boom-or-bust, with a lot of bad runs mixed in there. Football Outsiders measures RBs on a play-by-play basis, which tends to punish boom-or-bust types, and rated Murray as the best RB in the NFL on a per-play basis. They also had him 2nd-best in the NFL overall, which is incredible when you consider how few carries he had. It's just bizarre that anyone could think he was a poor RB last year.

Foster and Bell would need 3-4 games to catch Murray.

Let's just hope Murray stays healthy for all 16 games, Foster missed a game or two if I'm not mistaken.

I'm not sure which alternative universe you're referring to here.

In that game, Murray ran 17 times for 76 yards (4.5 ypc). Those runs included:
4 yards on 2nd-and-3.
5 yards on 2nd-and-5.
4 yards on 2nd-and-2.
1 yard on 3rd-and-1.
21 yards on 1st-and-10.

He was stuffed twice in the entire game, both times in the first quarter.

Yeah, you're right, he was one of the worst RBs in the league.

No, you just weren't paying attention. Demarco Murray has been a top-flight RB in this league since he arrived. Guy was always productive when healthy. How you can sit there and suggest that someone could go from "soft and unreliable" to the best RB in the game today is pretty funny. Murray must really be getting his money's worth on those tough guy lessons, huh?

One of the worst running backs in the NFL...that deserves three facepalms from the captain.
