Demarco Murray

I see that too, he won't be able to get away with that in the NFL, just isn't going to work.

If our coaches don't see that also, we aren't going to win anyway.

You underestimate Romos ability to overcome a lot of garbage.

Demarco Murray is going to shut all the naysayers up. Listening to Garrets presser, Demarco will be used as a wideout, a RB, and returner. I think he's basically a much fatser LeSean McCoy. Heh as all the potential in the world.

He has some flaws, like running to high, not enough wiggle, etc, but Houck will fix those. No biggie. He, IMO is the fastest player in the draft. Incredible speed. We're going to love this guy.

My prediction:
25 yr Kr average - 1 TD

450 receiving yards - 4 TD's

600 rushing yards - 5 TD's

My friend used to be the Sooners' starting fullback.

He said we got a guy that has the potential to be like AP with this pick.

5 games missed his entire collegiate career

I think it was 6, but now we're just getting funny with the one-by-one increase. 1 game in the last two years is good to note as an ender. And I don't even think the guy translates well to the pros.

I computer-screamed he wasn't worth a 6th rounder after the pick. That was a bit dramatic of me. However, I do remember watching him play for years and thinking "yards, touchdowns, built nice, don't know who takes a chance on him in the NFL but they're going to be disappointed." Then it was the Cowboys. I overreacted.

Time will tell. I'm eager to be wrong.

if i hear one more mcfadden comparison i'm going to puke.

mcfadden is a much more physical running back and can carry the load on 1st and 2nd down.

some of you guys are basing your optimism off of a few youtube highlights. notice how those of us who actually followed his college career and watch college football are saying how stupid this pick was. there were times last year when he looked like he was running waiting to get hit. catch is spot on, demarco is a solid pick if you are a team like green bay who don't have glaring holes or a team like san francisco who already has a feature back.

now we are stuck with two running backs who are mirror images of each other...fragile, can't get the tough yds, and we still need a feature back.

Your friend is the worst talent evaluator in the history of talent evaluating.

I think AP is pushing it. However, after having watched him for the majority of his career, I think he's a McCoy/Ray Rice mix. But faster. He had rather pedestrian numbers because of his absymal o-line the past few years and a lingering ankle, although he'll never admit it.

On a side note, I know this is my first day, but it's easy to see who the haters in here are. Murray will shut you up. (This isn't directed at you, BTW).

Lol, so now McFadden is a physical runner? One of the biggest criticism on him coming out was that he wasn't physical and merely ran through holes to daylight, couldn't break tackles, nor push a pile.

Wait, so Murray would make a good pick if he went to a team that didn't have any glaring needs.

So you've basically said he sucks, but he becomes a "good pick" by simply going to a team with lesser needs?

You're either a good player or not.

It sounds like your beef is simply that you didn't like where he was taken.

The only question I have on him is that I didn't like his ypc for a premier RB.

Hey, I'm just quoting the guy that blocked for him in college. Key word is potential. At no point did he or I suggest that Demarco Murray was Adrian Peterson, so pull the stick out, tough guy.

Thanks for the comment. If my friend had said that "he's like AP" then yes, that'd be pushing it. But he merely said the potential is there. I think it is there. He's incredible catching the ball out of the backfield and has amazing agility, even at full speed.

I'm excited to see him in our offense. I would liken his production and play more like that of Brian Westbrook or Marshall Faulk.

you need to go back into the original threads then because there are better gems in there where he literally just makes crap up about him. Called him a fumbler which is just flat wrong.

Catch will flat out lie his arse off to make a point. He is consistent, I will give him that.

He HATES Oklahoma. It has nothing to do w/ Murray. Don't believe the spin the guy throws up to make a point.

He fling's poo all over the place.

I loved Murrary befor the pick and after the pick. Never thought we would go after him but I am glad we did. Once Jerry mentioned on day 1 that we were interested in RB's I knew that it would either be Ryan Williams who I think we would have taken if the Cardinals didnt grab him two piks earlier than us or Murrary. This guy will definitely will add some spice to our offense.

I never once thought we would ever pick Murray. Being a Sooner fan, I am STOKED that we did.

I love the guy. Could care less what these other no-talent evalutators here think about him. :laugh2:

We have the fattest egos on the web here at CBZ.

Very true but not when it comes to evaluating talent for my Cowboys.

I'll take a good Sooner for my Cowboys.

Im in the minority when it comes to the Sooner faithful on this but don't be surprised if your current QB gets drafted in the 1st 2 rounds when he comes out.

In Demarco's defense, the Sooners recruit a lot of good RBs but Demarco's YPC are at the top or tied for the top YPC among those getting significant touches. Finch was better by .5 yds last year but he was more a change-up that might have caught teams off guard.

My point is your hate for Oklahoma will never allow you to show anything positive for any pick the Cowboys make for one, this year or in the future.

Say what you want...but your pure hatred doesn't allow you to do that.

Why most in this thread have already figured your so called "evaluation" out. You have said some doozies about Murray that just isn't true.

I'd just stay out of the debate.

Dude I was doing cartwheels the day we drafted Roy Williams.

I don't care where a good player comes from. If he can help the Cowboys than im all for it.

Im just not feelin Demarco Murray because of his physical ability.

He'll be a good return guy im sure but as a RB im not feelin it. Sorry.

He'll be more than a good return guy. You really need to hear the interviews regarding him since we drafted him. He wasn't drafted to be only a ST player.

I bet he competes directly w/ Felix, because Murray can do it all.
