At 6'3" 250 he seems more the size of a LB than defensive end... until he bulks up to around 265 or so... do you put him in as a strong side LB in certain packages like the goal line or to get extra pass rush from the LB spot against good passing teams...

I am actually not opposed to this. I figured his 1st time back they'd use him as a situational pass rusher and I think that's not a bad idea to have him on 3rd downs at the linebacker spot pass rushing.

No.

Kyle Wilber is playing DE now and he's listed at a similar size.

Lawrence was 251 back around March. He's likely bigger now. Players tend to keep their weight down for the combine/pro-day to run the best forty time.

If size were an issue they would play him on passing downs to minimize him having to play the run.

I was thinking situationally as in a goal line defensive package... with McClain, Lawrence and Carter as LBs... that's a lot of big, tough, strong fast guys you have to get by to cross the goal line...

Lawrence isn't fast.

Nope he's a Dend in a 4-3, he's a weakside Dend, our pass rusher, bigger end are fits for Strong side or 3T

What if he drops 20 lbs. and plays safety and nickel DE?

Can he throw the ball, we may need a QB if Romo doesn't get it together.

Guy looked huge in preseason. And we drafted him for WDE.

Horrible idea. The guy needs his hand in the dirt and getting after the QB on all downs.
