Boise State edge rusher Demarcus Lawrence went No. 30 to the 49ers in CBS Sports' Dane Brugler's Monday mock draft.
Lawrence, who declared for the NFL draft after his junior season, has been considered a Day 2 prospect throughout the process, but perhaps the tide is beginning to turn in his direction. Brugler himself tweeted that the prospect was a first-rounder last week and Scouts Inc.'s Kevin Weidl called Lawrence "one of the most intriguing prospects I have watched on tape this offseason" earlier this month. ESPN analyst Louis Riddick wrote in February that Lawrence was often misused at Boise State. Mar 17 - 10:59 PM

Maybe he'll play like Demarcus. Well, I guess he'll have to play like Demarcus but maybe not like Demarcus.

Another guy who will need to learn a lot about being a good passrusher, and playing the position he is probably tougher than M.Smith or Barr though.

NFL.com has had him rated pretty high all along. I wouldn't mind seeing him come here. He does have a lot to learn but good coaching can help that.

is the 242 correct? seems a little light, but speed is the key...not sure where he falls with that

He was 251 at the Combine. Also, his 33 3/4" arms is very nice length, and his 11" hands is rare. This allows for better control/leverage when engaged with an OT.

I'm skeptical that his burst off the ball is in line with a top 20 pick. I don't think it is. I think his awareness, passing rushing moves, length and motor are all really good, but he doesn't have the DWare get off. Not even close. Still really like him, but I'm not advocating taking him at #16.

This is exactly what I see from him also.

I wonder if Ealy could slip to us in the 2nd round.

Love the potential of the player. One of my favorites in this class. Extremely underrated.

I agree-this guy is going to go way higher than where people may expect.

He's the Chandler Jones/EJ Manuel of this draft.

Don't be shocked to see Dallas look at him hard if Donald and Barr are both off the board in the first. Obviously ideal if they could trade down, but not too far as this guy isn't making it out of rd one. Just a hunch.

I don't think he's Dware, but Chandler Jones or Brian Orakpo upside I do see.

I like this kid in the second round. I watched four of his game films and this one against Nevada is the one I'd recommend. He has trouble with Bitonio at LT which is concerning. But he looks great going up against other competition, with a lot of pass rush moves and good motor.

His trouble with Bitonio keeps him out of the 1st round for me. (And Bitonio has my interest now in day 2.)

Better like Demarcus Ware than Jennifer Lawrence.

Bitonio is a good player. It is not like he struggled against some nobody. Bitonio himself has said he is probably the most well-rounded rusher he has faced and that includes Anthony Barr.

And he looks great in all the games I watched otherwise. So I'd be happy with taking him, but it would be a reach in the first I think. I actually was ready to lobby for that until I got to the Nevada game.

Bitonio is probably going to be a 2nd-3rd round player. It was a good battle and Lawrence made a few plays, so it was a good game to see how he is against competition closer to what he will face in the NFL. I liked the fact he was not just a one move and give up type. He would bull rush sometimes and used his hands well.

It would not surprise me if he goes after Dee Ford and then people wonder why he did in a few seasons.
