It was though.

He has 3 sacks (all in the Giants game), 13 tackles (6 in the Giants game),4 TFL (3 in the Giants game), 5 QB hits (3 in the Giants game)...

You take away that game and everyone here is back to telling everyone what a waste he is for us.

What a defensive player does, stat-wise, isn't just dependent upon the player himself. For example, if a team runs to one side and up the middle a lot, a DE on the other side, whose main job is to control the edge, simply has a job to do that won't get him the stats. Somebody like TJ Watt, who has the monster sack totals, is almost purely a pass rusher. Same as Parsons, who also gets to attack the defense from multiple positions, Lawrence is at the DE position most of the time.

Stats are fine, but they don't tell the whole story...

I agree that stats don't tell the whole story, but you take away that 1 game and he looks like a bum numbers wise.

I like the guy and think he's one of our better defensive linemen, but I don't believe he's that important to the overall defense individually.

He’s got like 15 pressures across the other games. If you actually watch the games and understand the importance of QB pressures not sure how you could disagree he’s having a great year so far.

I understand the importance of it, but I stand by my point that if you take away then Giants game the people around here would be talking about him as a weak link.

I think that talk will resume if he goes a few more games without any sacks.

He’s a good player, but he’s not worth his contract. He’s the 3rd best edge rusher on this team so far this season, and the 4th (Fowler) isn’t far behind him.

Sure, he’s important in that you need talented edge rushers but I think we probably swap him out for a couple of dozen other edge rushers in the league without feeling it.

All good players have stat pad games. And your comment leads me to believe you’re looking at the box score and just checking for sacks. Cool if that’s your thing but just an awful way to evaluate a player IMO.

Parsons had a 2 game stretch without a sack too and I remember some fans on here we’re starting to question if he’d lost a step or getting too worn out.

These boards can be wild sometimes.

You say this like it matter? Who cares what a bunch of softheads on the internet say? The coaches say he's playing great.. The almighty PFF says he is playing great.. Analysts doing our games say he is playing great.. But short bus riders on the internet trumps all that? Yeah.. sure.

Fortunately not everyone who posts here is a short bus rider.. I am here to engage with the intelligent posters.. and occasionally engage a little recreational troll roasting.
Intelligent like making a whole thread to point out a less than perfect completed pass by Rush on a 4th down conversion?

No one is really talking about him, but he's playing light's out so far this season. He was one of the forum's whipping boys the last few years. Good to see him playing at a high level.
See, now I'm talking to an eagles fan and he said he hasn't been good since 2019. Lol.
He said, and I quote, "I lie, you lie but stats don't lie. "
He's the type of person that only watches his team i think.
