If you scroll over in the link you provided it says cap hit. 26 million for 2023.

The 30 million in guarantees includes his signing bonus and his 22 and 23 base salary.
doesn't ADD up its 40 mil 3 year deal PERIOD none of that makes sense someone messed up

Clearly, its a 2 yr 30mil with voidable 3rd year if the Cowboys want and they are out

if not its 40total.again the math does NOT ADD UP.

Tank was under contract when he signed another contract. Meaning they took a lot of his base salary and turned it into a signing bonus. That signing bonus is stretched evenly across the duration of his contract. That's the added 3 million you see, for every year. So if you take the 3 million added to every year, then add that to his base salary...that's where you get the 3 years for 40 million at.

All of the other bonus money that you see Dallas had already paid him that. A bonus is paid to a player immediately but it is stretched evenly across the duration of the contract. So when I say he signed a 3-year 40 million dollar contract they are not including the bonuses or base salary that have already been paid. and that's why you add the new bonus the $3 million for every year to his base salary.

His base salary is...
3 for '22.
15 for '23
10 for '24

That's 28 million. Then you add in his 12 million bonus at 3 million a year. The voided year is only added financially. He's a free agent after 2024. And if he signs with another team, we still owe him 3 million and some change.

The cap hit of 26 million next year is because you still have to add in his bonus from his last contact. His bonus from his last contract with stretch evenly across the years of that entire contract. He signed a new contract while being in the contract. In which they just pushed a bunch of his base salary into bonuses.

So 8 million of the old bonus, 3 million of the new bonus, and 15 million and base salary.... Equals 26 million.

D Flaw has been severely overpaid since his contract year. He has been a net negative player every year and has contributed to playing losing defense as much if not more so than anybody but his Hot Boyz buddies T Crawford and J Smooth. IMHO you can be a fan of the player and you can be a fan of the team but you can not be both. I honestly do not know how you can be a fan of this team and not despise players like them.

I'm a fan because he's good and is one of the leaders on defense...seems like a reasonable reason to like him.

Pay no attention to this dude.. He never posts much of anything except cliched criticisms of the Cowboys players laced with cornball nicknames. He did just explain himself though.. He doesn't like any of them so the fact that he only posts negative crap about them makes sense.. in a twisted sort of way. I mean.. the team he professes to be a fan of is littered with players who all suck... Yeah.. makes perfect sense..

Meh I post plenty of positive things. I just feel the need to be honest with my evaluations. If you are big fans for players like Zeke and D Law then we will probably have different opinions. I bet our opinions of Diggs and Parsons are the same. I bet our opinions of Wilson and Armstrong are the same. I bet our opinions of any player that is a positive contributor towards wining are the same.

I bet our opinions of Dak and Zeke when they were rookies was the same. I bet our opinions of Irvin, Emmitt and Aikman are the same.

Is there even a single player on the team that you are unhappy with? Perhaps we can find some common ground there or do you love them all?

The operative word here is obvious. Every person is entitled to his or her opinion. But opinions are not facts. This penchant for tearing down so many members of one's own favorite team is not a practice I'm ever going to agree with. Being mad at players because they make more money than you deem them to be worthy seems to lead to an unhealthy tendency to focus on any negative concerning said player while minimizing any positives. If that's your thing then fine, I can't go there with you.

As for being "unhappy with" or "loving" players? I'm sure you know there is plenty on the spectrum in between those two extremes. I don't know any of them well enough to "love" them and I am not emotionally invested enough in any one player for any of them to make me "unhappy." I am only "unhappy" when the team loses. If a player is so bad that I adjudge them to be disproportionally responsible for my team losing I will want them to play better or play less ( or not at all) .. but "unhappy with" them? Nah.. That's not how I roll.

Oh and about the Aikman, Irvin, Emmitt question.. I was REALLY unhappy with Mike for his hooker and cocaine binging habits because they cost him games.. which in turn negatively impacted my team its chances of winning. I was also unhappy with Amari Cooper's refusal to get you-know-what for the same reason. When a player's personal choices cause them to miss games I will be "unhappy" with said player. But how much money they make doesn't move the needle for me at all. If a guy just plays poorly then it's up to the coaches to either help him get better or replace him. If they don't replace him then I have to assume they don't think they have anyone better. So I am going to continue to root like hell for said player to play better.

No one is really talking about him, but he's playing light's out so far this season. He was one of the forum's whipping boys the last few years. Good to see him playing at a high level.
Yes it's nice!
Wonder how much of it is because of all the attention Parsons is drawing ?
He was a beast against the Midgets...

Parsons being there opened the gates for him. Having two or more awesome rushers prevent teams from ganging up on your star rusher.

I’m not a fan of drafting RBs early in the first or paying them monster contracts. I like Zeke but he’s essentially a league average back at this point so there you go.

The pass rush is getting big contribution from supporting cast, to helping Parsons.
Dlaw is one of those. Armstrong, Osa, Hill, Fowler, Williams and Gallimore have been others.

Sure we're playing some mediocre OL units - but that's on them,.. not us, ..that's their problem,
and we have to play against whatever that's placed in front of us.

DLaw put on a sheer spanking clinic vs first round pick Neal of the NY Giants.
He goes up against his long time nemesis RT Lane Johnson in Philly, who may not be
what he used to be.

I appreciate the comment. We have found some common ground. D Law is definitely a better DE than Zeke is an RB at this point.
