DeMarcus Lawrence: who saw him in practice before the injury?

Not saying this will happen but AT BEST I think you can hope for a Bruce Irvin type impact like he did in his rookie year. Just come in and sack the pass rusher. That's his main job. Hopefully he progresses to more than that but that's all Irvin was his rookie year and now. Just get to the passer. Ware was asked to do far much more his rookie year. There's potential for Lawrence to make a immediate impact.

Right now I just hope he can help on the pass rush. As for Durant it falls to Hitchens and Wilber. Great thing with Hutchins he has been seeing playing time due to various injuries with Durant, Ro and Carter. he makes some mistakes but he has also made some nice plays and I would think he will improve with more play. No doubt would rather have a healthy Durant but that is not going to happen

Hitchens will be serviceable as long as Ro and Bruce stay healthy.

Spencer looks better on the strong side each week. If we can just get some consistent pressure to cause QBs to have to step up into Melton and Crawford's arms, we'll be good to go.

I agree. We are now down to a backup and looking to add more to it. Hopefully we can avoid any big injuries the rest of the way at LB.

We don't know what he can do. And neither does AZ which can be a good thing.
The element of surprise.

That's really all I would want. He doesn't have to do anything else great right now as a rookie.

Boise State Alum.....Haven't missed a game or Blue/Orange scrimmage in years.

Have high hopes that he can come in and contribute. D-Law is a streaky player. He can be white hot as a pass rusher and take over a game.......but on the down side he can disappear for long stretched just as well. From what I've been hearing from another BSU board/twitter he has really hit the weight room to build up his upper body strength....(which he needed). Just hope this foot injury isn't something that lingers or effects his play coming off the edge.

You nailed it, keep it simple and let the dog hunt!

I think DeMarcus Lawrence WILL make a huge impact on the pass rush, with fire to prove himself at this level, fresh legs and a violence to his game.

Keep it basic, see QB, kill QB!

I agree. I made that comparison because people bring up how he's just a rookie and chances of immediate impact are slim. He's not going to be asked to be Ware. HE's going to be asked to be a situational pass rusher. And as a situational pass rusher? He can make a immediate impact. Not saying that should be expect. He is a rookie after all. But there's been rookies come in and make a immediate impact in similar roles. He's hungry. I would not be SHOCKED at all if he comes in makes some noise in that role.

As long as Ro and Bruce play well. There can't be any games where Hitchens is the best guy at the linebacker position. Well, I mean unless he's actually dominating out there. I'm more disappointed in Ro and Carter's play than I am nervous. They missed on some tackles they have made ALL YEAR.

LOL Carver STARTED for us in our championship year. Granted, it was when Haley went down but he started nonetheless. As of right now.....I don't think he'd start or even get any playing time with this bunch.

Hey hey he looked lengendary in XFL and Indoor leagues.

All we need is for Lawrence to show something for opposing OC to gameplan against and maybe that will be enough for the rest of the guys to get there.

What we've got with Lawrence is potential, pure and simple. It leaves lotsa room for creative imagination to take effect. There's surely a preponderance of evidence to provide solid proof of that within this thread . . . lol.
