DeMarcus Lawrence's 4-game suspension upheld

As normal I see some blaming others for DLaw's mistakes. Only person who should be blamed is Lawrence, these guys know the damn rules if they are this stupid then maybe a career at McDonalds is where they should seek employment. Some will continue to excuse this behavior on one hand and whine about the team lacking discipline when these players can’t control their own personal life.
It really is time for the Cowboys to put a 0 tolerance in place and let guys know they are here for 1 reason and that is to play football. If your personal problems are preventing you from being able to do that then we don’t need you.

Agreed!!!

don't draft or mess with players that are these type of people quit taking huge risks don draft injuried players draft players that will be on the field and can play.

And people wonder, Why this team hasnt WON a Superbowl in 20 years....

This team hasn't gotten past the second round of the playoffs in 20 years. We've won only 3 playoff games since our last Super Bowl win.

I don't even know if it is substance abuse or PED

Substance abuse would require multiple failed tests but it only takes one fail for PEDs

It was adderall. My wife is on adderall, so I would not call him a druggie, but just unwise to be using a substance that is not approved by the NFL.

Lawrence clearly made a mistake. I honestly don't believe he knew what he was taking and I can't really get too upset with him.

How is this clear? I haven't seen any confirmed information on the details.

It seems possible that this was not a rec drug issue but whatever. Im fine with being hard on these issues, hopefully he doesnt have a problem.

Looks like the league office is taking a four day weekend - the bad news is normally buried on a Friday.

He was busted for amphetamine usage, reportedly.

http://espn.go.com/nfl/story/_/id/1...us-lawrence-suspended-first-four-games-season

Cowboys defensive end DeMarcus Lawrence had his appeal denied and will be suspended the first four games of the season for violating the NFL's substance abuse policy, sources told ESPN's Todd Archer.

Lawrence, who led the team with eight sacks last season, is being disciplined for using amphetamines, sources told ESPN in April.

What are these dudes getting popped on?????? MJ???

Edit: oh amphetamines on this guy. Just saw that. Geeeeeez.

C'mon...after the rather long history of 'medical' aides getting the user in trouble...this issue isn't rocket science. If what goes in the mouth is scrutinized for maximum body development, then it's irresponsible to not include medicinal additions as well.

It's not like deer antlers aren't still legal.

If it stunts one's career and team, then it's not worth taking. Period!

Sorry. This was earned...no naivity at this point in a career.

The NFL treats Adderall and Ritalin as PEDs during the season but amphetamines as substance abuse in the off-season....I guess that is why there is so much confusion

Snapshot of today's youth and the sad state of America.

If it's substance abuse, it's his fourth drug test failure.

A little more than a simple mistake.

We will be in the DE market for several more years with the Lawrence and Gregory habits.

I agree completely about personal responsibility.

I disagree completely about a puritan zero tolerance policy. You're never going to see it either unless ownership changes.
