I agree completely about personal responsibility.

I disagree completely about a puritan zero tolerance policy. You're never going to see it either unless ownership changes.

The players and their union just need to fight for it next cba time. Maybe use their collateral on that rather than non-mandatory otas.

Tight. Now let's find out what starters we will lose for the season to injuries and get this show on the road. I had a feeling it would be upheld.

Lawrence clearly made a mistake. I honestly don't believe he knew what he was taking and I can't really get too upset with him.

From what I've read, it sounds like he got prescribed something that had a banned substance in it. Under the abuse policy, that would mean he was clear - e.g. players having a prescription for Ritalin. But logically that don't fly under the PED policy.

This one is way different than Cheech and Chong's situation

It seems possible that this was not a rec drug issue but whatever. Im fine with being hard on these issues, hopefully he doesnt have a problem.

Unless he was already in the drug program, he couldn't be tested in the off-season until 4/20. We knew about the suspension before then so it seems likely that it was a PED that he says his Dr. prescribed

I gave you D-Law but McClain and Gregory ahead of Scandy, Jones, and Crawford? Really?

Well I haven't seen enough of Crawford or Byron Jones to say they are the best at ANYTHING on this team. Even if it is by default. Same goes for Gregory. I was more so speaking on the behalf of Lawrence. I won't waste the energy in arguing for McClain or Gregory. With Gregory, you just hope he makes that jump this year...with McClain....you just hope he shows up.

Chances are you are right that the 0 tolerance will not take place but I think even Jerry can change as these issues continue to pop up and his own desire to win a championship.

so our best 3 defenders not named Sean Lee are all suspended to start the season... wonderful

Those are our 3 best defenders? That is news to me. First of all...Scandrick is better than all of them. And while I am not high on Brandon Carr....he is better than Gregory and McClain simply by being available. Also, because Demarcus Lawrence body of work is so short...I would argue Brandon Carr is better than him as well. And now that I think about it...I am not sure Randy Gregory is better than ANYBODY on defense. What has he ever done?

Someone who's failed a drug test, beat up his significant other or recovering from injury. :(

It is round 2, so "recovering from injury" is a must or no dice. I'm not taking anyone who can play the year I draft him

According to what Spags has heard and similar coming from FISH, he supposedly took some kind of supplement/medicine involving his surgery/rehab that the nfl had on their approved to use list. But something had been recently added that was banned by the league.

Always those damned supplements.

Probably some peptide that helps with recovery or a muscle relaxer since it was his back and that can be a pain.

Not worried about Demarcus.

Muscle relaxer would be exempt as he would probably have a legitimate medical need for it. They didn't bust him for opioids but guaranteed he had some pain killers after surgery.

What more can - or should - the union do than provide the ability to secure an exemption in cases of medical necessity?

I don't think that there is much success by the Cowboys for team rights against the NFL, when issue directly involved the team or it's players.

In legal systems, one is reminded to get a winner to represent you in court. The Cowboys seem to stand alone well, but when issues arrive...they don't seem too successful as a franchise when nothing involves cash flow issues directly. If charged...too often Cowboys are just guilty.

Well those same people must really hate the Pats, to take out their golden boy. There is no conspiracy, the players do this to themselves/the team/the fans...

I get so tired of the Dallas fans being victims. These guys made stupid decisions and now they paying for it. Case closed, no whining needed.

DLaw, let's go for a 10 game suspension next season. You can do it! :flagwave:
