Is Ware a ROLB or a WOLB?

Calling him a "ROLB" suggest he plays exclusively on the right side. Calling him a "WOLB" suggest he plays both sides (which Ware does).

I know he does play the SOLB spot at times (mainly cuz a TE motions/shifts over), but that doesn't change his distinction, be it ROLB or WOLB. Just like when JuJo lines up out wide, it doesn't mean he's not a RB anymore.

You still don't get it. Calling him a "ROLB" doesn't suggest that he plays exclusively on the right side, just as calling him a "WOLB" doesn't suggest that he plays exclusively on the weak side.

So then by your own admission, you're wrong.

There's a difference... Ware can line up on the weakside and have at the TE motion over making him the SOLB.

But he can't possibly be a ROLB if he lines up on the LEFT side.

Carp is the SOLB (or LOLB if you believe in theogt's religion).

Honestly, you have the logical reasoning ability of a 3 year old. He can be called generally a WOLB and line up on the strong side. Calling him a WOLB doesn't mean he's always a WOLB. In the same vein, calling him a ROLB doesn't mean he's always a ROLB.

Says the guy that calls a LB that can play on the LEFT side at times a ROLB.

And way to start with the insults. Good job.

Honestly I could've sworn I saw Ware rush mainly from the right side. However, I could be wrong.. All I know is, I want to see him all over that line, and not just in one spot.

Do these look familiar?

I think you may actually be more stubborn then Nors. That dude NEVER admitted when he was wrong. You're pretty much on par with that right now.

Why would you have a problem with simple terms? It's the only thing you understand (on your good days).

Well since you can't seem to grasp the difference between a LOLB and a SOLB then I guess your education level is below that of a 10 year old.

Just a few. Don't let your glass house come crashing down around you.

By the way, the poll could have simply asked, "Is it incorrect to call DeMarcus Ware a ROLB?"

Edit: I think it's obvious that many, if not most, people prefer to use the weak/strong dinstinction rather than the right/left distinction when describing outside linebackers. This poll may end up reflection that. However, the poll does nothing to show that the right/left distinction is correct or incorrect.

Just one play inparticular... remember vs the Eagles ( I think it was the eagles) were Ware came through from the left side on an inside move, and sacked Garcia, forcing a fumble? It's on that video theebs made of the top 9 plays of 2007 (pretty sure it was theebs that made it).

Yeah, he played a decent amount on the left side this year. Funny, I remember before the season when I stated that Ware and whoever is the other OLB would switch sides throughout the season and Rack stated that they never switch sides. I wish I could find that thread. Funny stuff. Rack was wrong again.

I dont think we really started switching him up til later in hte season, but I may be wrong. Personally I would just prefer ROLB because it implies he pass rushes the qb's blindside. Doesn't matter though, seriously no need to argue over semantics.

No, as usual, YOU'RE wrong again.

I said Ware rarely switched sides his ROOKIE year. How could I say he never switches sides referring to a season he hasn't played yet? You said yourself it was BEFORE the season.

You're a complete fool if you think I'd go through all this trouble trying to teach you the difference between a SOLB/WOLB and LOLB/ROLB but then say they don't switch sides.

BP himself said he didn't move Ware around much his rookie year cuz he didn't want to put more on his (Ware's) plate.

No offense to any of you, but does it really matter?

Not really. Just trying to open his mind up a little bit. Beginning to think it isn't possible.

A WOLB can be on either side of the defense depending on the offensive formation. A WOLB can become the SOLB if the TE motions over.

But it's impossible for the LOLB to be a LOLB if he's on the right side. That's why referring to them as LOLB/ROLB is incorrect. They aren't set on those sides. It IS however still correct to refer to a WOLB as the WOLB if he ends up the SOLB on a play where he originally lined up on the WEAK side, but the TE motioned over. It's all about where you line up. Of course a good defensive coach will move players around, even line up a WOLB on the strong side (on purpose) but he's still a WOLB. When a RB spits out wide he may be lined up as a WR on THAT PLAY, but he's still the RB, correct?

theogt spews his nonsense over and over again, then claims to have "Owned" me after he's done nothing of the sort. It's like I just beat a 2 year old 11-0 in basketball, but he goes around telling everyone that he beat me. No big deal when it comes from a 2 year old... I thought theogt was a little bit older then that.
