So it's not a pay cut if he hits all incentives. It's a restructure.

Ask his wife if it was a pay cut. He was getting 10m and is now getting 6.5m. IF he does better than he ever has for DEN he will get the same amount as before.

With a restructure the total amount stays the same, he just gets more of it upfront as a signing bonus.

He reportedly was willing to take a cut here, too. Just not a big enough one for our purposes.

He's a good guy, and a valuable role player at this stage of his career, but I don't regret us making the hard choice on letting him go. It was the right decision.

Trade romo there so he can get a ring:laugh:

I know Jerry wouldn't do it, but if I could get three 1st round picks for Romo, I'd trade him in a heartbeat. Of course, I don't know what the cap hit would be so I have to take that into consideration.

At his age and his injury status, I just don't think he'll see a Super Bowl. Everything has to go exactly perfect for us for Romo to get to a Super Bowl. And every year, our odds diminish.

That's why if we're a smart franchise, we'll take Wentz or Goff, if available, and groom him to replace Romo.

I like Romo, but I just don't trust him to be healthy his remaining years, and I'm not convinced the Cowboys will reduplicate 2014, whether it's being cheap on the running back position or placing everything back on Romo's weak shoulders.

He offered to take a paycut here.

Down to $10M from $14M I think. They offered him $5m and he balked. His dead money was over $8M so I never understood why not keep him at $10?

Hardy had a 16m cap hit with 12m salary
He had never made 12m so it really wasn't asking him to take a pay cut
When he was released DAL took all 8m in dead money at once instead of splitting it over 2 years

It was time for both to move on and he did well to get 20m from DEN for 17 sacks over the last 2 years

Took a pay cut to stay with Denver. That irritates me some because he didn't do that to stay here. I was rooting for him until now p.o.s....

DWare a p.o.s.? Think that May be a bit of a knee jerk reaction. Guy has been nothing but class his whole career. We gave up on him and you're mad he wants to stay in Denver? Dumb.
