 hey people did anyone notice that demarcus ware was held in check basically the whole game im glad we didn't trade greg ellis who continues to be one of the consistent bright spots and playmakers on this defense because without him pressuring off his end we would really have a so-so pass rush. its scary because this houston o-line isnt close to the g-men o-line with rosenthal and mckenzie so i hope he'll have one of those great games against eli because we'll need it to force turnovers and win. anyone else feel the same?

He made great plays in the run game but they were only putting 2 recievers into routes and leaving the rest to protect so that is why we didnt' get great pressure but they didn't beat us. Its all part of a bigger equation.

Actually, I thought Ware had consistent pressure today but didn't get a sack. Best pressure on the Dline.
But overall, Ware's pass rushing skills are overrated by Cowboys fans.
I do believe Ellis is the best pass rusher on the team. He has two moves that work well. Both rely upon a 'bull rush like' motion where he engages the olineman hard and then, using his hands to gain clearance makes a quick move either inside or outside to go around his man.

Ware does not have this move.

Ware is a better all-around player though.

But Ellis is not far behind.

That is exactly the move Ware used when he sacked McNabb last week.

No it isn't.
Ware beat his man around the corner and was never fully engaged.
Watch it again.

yea it was a low contact speed rush.

ware has that move and a very good bull rush which against half the tackles in the league will get you a sack a game. so i expect him to be just an 8-9 sack per season guy for a while

Hmmm. Could have sworn it was. Regardless, I clearly remember seeing him use that move on one occasion this year with success. He has that move.

He really doesn't.
JJones21 and I are on the same page.
He has two moves-bull and speed.
He is not a double-digit sack guy right now.
I think Ellis has a better chance of getting to 10-12 sacks this year than Dware.

i just know that if you check the game out again you see ware getting blocked 1 on 1 and he just wasn't getting there. rout or not this is the type of games where he should show why he's a beast where the qb has to drop back and pass to come from behind. am i right or wrong guys? not to make another ware vs merriman but thats exactly when shanwe shows you how much better he is than an average team when he has 2-3 sack games and forced fumbles right? great teams put these bad teams under the ground like we did today and against the titans, and also great players should have great games ala julius jones, greg ellis, and drumroll please......T.O! you understand what im saying? im not saying that D.WARE isnt good or can be great but these are the games where he really should just show off. i dont expect nothing more than a solid game and maybe 1 sack and good pressure against great teams because you know that good teams will have a good game plan to contain good players, but the bad teams are bad for a reason and he should have done more in my oppion thats all.

I thought Ware had a pretty solid game. He didnt get any sacks, but he had a few pressures on Carr and blew up a few runs in the backfield.

Ware is simply part of the system. His stats are worse than his play because of Zimmer's read and react system. Doesn't matter if it's 3-4 or 4-3 ... Zimmer's D's have always been stop the run first.

Carr was Houston's leading runner with 15 yards. Dayne and Gato had 26 combined yards rushing.

I think the D played a great game. 6 points given up.

You can keep the stats for the fantasy maniacs. I'll take a team win over good stats anyday.

The Baltimore Ravens gave up 400 + yards on defence today but they did get a SACK so obviously they must have played better defense than the Cowboys considering we didnt get a SACK. Boy do we suck.
