Lost in all the jubilation over the AUTOMATICA kick, and the Tony Romo heroics is the great game by Ware last night. I realize that there are still going to be some who insist on focusing on his lower than expected sack numbers, but this kid is an exceptional football player who is everywhere making plays! He plays with outstanding technique versus the run, and demands double and triple teams versus the pass.

I get a kick out of listening to people complain about him because of the sack numbers because he is such a focus of opposing o-lines. Watch how teams scheme against Ware, and you will begin to understand what an amazing impact he has on a game even without getting sacks. If we had someone else who could put consistent pressure on qb’s this defense would be the best in the league.

One question, where are the line stunts? Have you seen Ware loop inside of Canty or Spears lately? Why not, in obvious passing situations, run stunts to confuse the other team? That’s one major advantage so many other “sack artists” have over Ware, they are utilized differently/more effectively in passing situations. Against Ware (no fault of his own) the tackle knows exactly where he is and where he is going because he doesn’t have to worry at all about stunts. If Zimmer would incorporate stunts you would see Ware’s sack total double.

You're entirely right. He's the only true pass rusher of the LBs. Sign Adalius (sp?) Thomas!

Ware and Thomas on the edges with Ayodele and James in the middle. Burnett, Carpenter, even Singleton, Fowler as backups and Ellis is still around maybe.

I was against Thomas, but now would love him after really thinking about it.

So much talent on the edges would allow the middle of the line to attack.

the Cowboys choose to play straight up and wait for other teams to make mistakes...you get away with it against bad teams...but I think eventually not hitting the QB catches up to you in playoff games...I don't think we even hit the guy yesterday

We didn't blitz that much it seemed... In our game against Peyton, we threw a lot of different looks at him... did more blitzing... I have no idea why we went conservative against a fragile quarterback..

It drove me nuts...

The man was double teamed all night...often by two O-lineman as opposed to an OL and a TE or RB...and still had a terrific game. He's playing well, and only getting better.

The tackle on Jacobs was awesome. Ware stopped him dead in his tracks. I think it was the only time all game when he didn't run over at least a couple of cowboys. Coughlin isn't really bright. He should have rode Brandon Jacobs the whole game. The guys is just about unstoppable when he has a head of steam built up.

How about D-Ware tracking the play to Tiki down from the backside. He is wicked fast - looked like a lion on that play, stayed low and compact across the back of the line, and the sprung for the kill. Rawr.

I think we should've suited up Bea Arthur at linebacker and Richard Simmons at free safety. No one would want him touching them, he'd take away half the field and improvise crazy end zone dances for TO.

Thomas should be our #1 offseason priority. IF Baltimore lets him get away.

I think we were trying to sit back, stop Tiki and Jacobs, and let Eli, who was low on confidence and good decisions as of late, beat us.

I think come playoff time, you'll see game plans that mirror something more along the lines of Indianapolis.

It's also all relative. If you play the Bears, I think you shut down the run and see if Grossman can beat you. As of late, you'd think, no.

What is funny is Parcells has said he is not looking for Ware to become a sack machine he wants Ware to be an all around LB who can do it all. This goes right back to this ideal that sacks are what makes a defense and it is not the case. There are teams like GB who have more sacks than the Cowboys but anyone who has seen the GB defense knows they are not near as good as the Cowboys defense.
