Its obvious in pass protection that the Giants were focused on stopping Ware... often double teaming him with even 2 OLinemen much less an OLineman and a RB/TE.

BUT, lets look at what they did against Ware's side of the defense rushing.

This the breakdown of the Giants rushing attack versus the right side (Ware's side), middle, and left side of our defense.

LEFT SIDE OF DEFENSE:
15 rushes for 83 yards... 5.53 yards per run

MIDDLE:
6 rushes for 24 yards.... 4.0 yards per run

RIGHT SIDE OF DEFENSE: (Ware's side)
7 rushes for 20 yards..... 2.86 yards per run

Obviously, the Giants ran away from Ware almost twice as much as they ran toward him. They obviously had very little success running toward the right side of our defense as well.

A lot of us were saying that the Offensive right side...the defensive left...was where the Giants would try to run. Looks right....We've got to get that fixed.

We're playing Deuce, Bush, Dunn, and Westbrook the next few games. They'll for sure see the films of our games vs the Colts, Bucs, and Giants.

his tackle on that animal Jacobs was INCREDIBLE and GAME SAVING!!!!!!!!
Brandon Jacobs=Troy Hambrick. Dude hasnt shown IMO that he could be the everydown back. He is great in spot duty for Tiki, but he has got to have some space to get going. Once he has got momentum, he is going to be a load to bring down, but he isnt going to be breaking any tackles or anything like that within a few yards of the LOS. Hit him in the backfield, easy tackle.

Teams have been doing this ALL season. Ware (and Canty as well) does such a good job against the run that its dang near impossible for teams to have success running on that side.

He just doesn't give ground or get out of position like our other OLB's do at times.

I was totally amazed at how well Ware can shed blockers going back to the middle of last season. I've seen him shed VERY GOOD blockers like they were nobody's. Look at the Rams game from last season on that play were Ware bodyslammed Marshall Faulk... he just tossed the FB off of him like it was nothing on that play.

He certainly had success against our defense in both games this season.

How about D-Ware tracking the play to Tiki down from the backside. He is wicked fast - looked like a lion on that play, stayed low and compact across the back of the line, and the sprung for the kill. Rawr.

That play was awesome. I remember watching him shoot of the line and track down Tiki. Every time he makes a play, I look at my dad, and say sarcastically, "yea, we should have drafted Merriman."

What is funny is Parcells has said he is not looking for Ware to become a sack machine he wants Ware to be an all around LB who can do it all. This goes right back to this ideal that sacks are what makes a defense and it is not the case. There are teams like GB who have more sacks than the Cowboys but anyone who has seen the GB defense knows they are not near as good as the Cowboys defense.

Do you have a link to Parcells saying that? thx

He will be charged with containing Reggie Bush next Sunday.

One musn't forget/overlook Deuce McAllister. VERY, VERY, very, underlooked this year.

The stats to that side are somewhat scewed by that big run on the direct snap to Barber. The entire defense was fooled on that one, and it cost us 20 yards...20 yard runs against our defense are few and far between.

Its still their responsibility to stop the play....

By the way, they also gave up a 16 yard run as well as that 20 yard run. I'm not trying to talk down on them, I'm just saying that its still a play given up, regardless of whether it was a trick play or not.

Its kinda like the Commanders fans saying that its not Sean Taylor's fault he gave up the flea flicker to Terry Glenn because it was a trick play. Its still a big play given up regardless of the play.

I would check the Recap Zone for his press releases. He's consistently said he doesn't want Ware to be one-trick pony.

I agree. McAllister has always been underrated. Partially because he's played in NO...and now even with the Saints success this year, he's still not getting any love.

Oh I know... I was simply trying to illustrate that the left side isn't normally as bad against the run as those stats show. IMO, the left side has done a fairly decent job all season...and that it isn't necessarilly something to "fix", but rather something to "improve."

That was a heck of a play call against us...the whole line was sealed by two blockers. They just got too good of a jump on us by faking the motion.
