Well, I like him too.
Best safety in this class isn't saying a ton though.
Maybe if we have a pick in the top half of the 3rd?

Would love to have him if we could nab him in the 3rd! but I fear he will be gone in the 2nd...

His size worries me a bit. 5'11 195 wouldn't exactly make me feel great about him covering the deep half with a 6'4 210 WR steaking down the field. He's also been known to be a bit over aggressive which is never good, but I'm sure experience and coaching could handle that.

Overall I think I would rather have either Rowe or Josh Shaw if we are picking a CB/FS type in the 2nd/3rd round range.

I realize Randall has some versatility & a knack for creating turnovers... but my goodness, he can't tackle. It's a real problem. I think he makes for a nice 3rd round pick for his coverage ability, but sounds like he'll go 30-45 slots higher than I'd be willing to draft him.

There is no way the Cowboys are dumb enough to let that kind of info out to the media.

This is when you know somebody's playing insider.
Really....short term memory loss?

Seriously doubt anyone is playing insider on this statement, the Cowboys do this same thing every Draft. They are always very forth coming, sometimes too much for my taste, maybe it's stupid, but it happens all the time.

Everybody around here knows Jerry can't keep his mouth shut about anything.

I'd take him as early as the 2nd pick @ #60.

If it happens all the time, give me one example of a confirmed Cowboys leak. Because I'm not aware of any. All I'm aware of are fake insiders who guess and hide behind the term "source".

I just refuse to believe the Cowboys put together a FA plan and a draft board all while leaking information to anyone outside the building so it can become public knowledge.

It doesn't pass the smell test.

This.

A few local media get some tidbits but those media people won't release the info directly, it will come out in hints.

I remember back in 2009 when Mickey kept talking about Max Unger but never said directly that the Cowboys liked him. Then the second Unger was off the board Mickey immediately said that was their one and only target at that pick.

Matt Miller is not someone that would have any clue on inside Cowboys info.

Matt's network across the NFL is actually pretty vast. He has worked very hard the last 15 years to establish himself. I knew him when he was a teacher/JV football coach and message board draft junkie. He's legit now.

Matt could also be getting this info from the player directly.

Look at it like this, Matt knows me and I know Damarious. It could be that simple, although in this case that is not what happened.

I see Randall as a corner, not a safety.

Edit: one with poor tackling skills at that.

The player would not know where they have him ranked.

They tell most players that they really like them. This is the reason many players get butthurt when they don't draft them (Randy Moss, Meriman, etc..).

What's the difference between that and our bottom half of the second pick? By the way, I have him in my mock in the 2nd.

How big is Earl Thomas?

He's an exception. You going to advocate drafting a 5'11 qb to replace Romo just because Brees is great? And let's not pretend that a JUCO transfer and 2nd/3rd round prospect is anywhere near a stud, blue chip, top 15 prospect like Thomas was.
