I'm really surprised we arn't targeting Roscoe right now. He can be had for dirt cheap since he's a luxury to them. Drop a 7th on him and let's see some punts returned for TD's!!

for back up WR ?

The Jacksonville Jaguars are looking to trade veteran receiver Dennis Northcutt, the most productive receiver they have left from last year's team, Northcutt's agent confirmed.
"They have indicated that they intend to trade him and are trying to do so," agent Jerome Stanley said in an email exchange with ESPN.com.

Northcutt joined the Jaguars as a free agent in 2007 and in 29 games caught 88 passes for 1,146 yards and six touchdowns. He also did some work as a return man. He came into the league as a second round pick by Cleveland out of Arizona in 2000.

at least he better than Matt Jones

but lets see how the youngsters do in training camp

I dont want Crayton returning anyway. The guy doesnt know how to carry the ball. Plus this is a step up year for him at WR

He carries the ball like he is Prime Time but he forgets that he is 4.65 and not 4.2

says who!!!!!!!!

Stanback is unproven and can't stay heathy, Austin is again unproven and can't stay healthy and is our only speed on at wideout, Crayton and hurd are the same, third down receivers at best, Thomas looks like he's done with his knee for the season and two rookies, and you think we don't need a receiver....WOW someone is in fantasy land

Not for a trade. We've got youth and speed coming in this year, hopefully. If we could get him off the free agent market or waivers that'd be different.

Report: Northcutt Traded To Lions
Posted by Aaron Wilson on June 26, 2009, 8:03 p.m.

Dennis Northcutt is no longer a Jacksonville Jaguar.

According to John Clayton of ESPN.com, the Jaguars have traded the veteran wide receiver to the Detroit Lions.

And the Lions have compensated the Jaguars by sending them safety Gerald Alexander.

Alexander and Northcutt share the same agent, Jerome Stanley. Per the report, which cited sources, Stanley was surprised that Alexander was included in the trade.

Per the report, the Lions were unwilling to give up a draft pick. So, that’s how the rare player-for-player swap developed.

According to Clayton, the trade terms were completed today. However, the deal won’t be official until next week when it’s ratified by league officials.

Buffalo will not let him go for any less than a forth round pick.

Parrish is a good, not great player. He also has the luxury of playing for the best Special Teams coach the league has seen in over a decade. The Buffalo Bills are a team who draft Special Teams first, and thus have the best Special Teams in the league on a consistent basis. Parrish wouldn't have the same success on a lot of other teams in the league.

Joe D is a pretty damn good ST coach though. He isn't a star or ever will be but he makes our ST go from whack to stacked. He could impact a game immensely without ever catching a pass. Instead of Crayton fair catching at our 30 yard line, Romo and the offense can start at the other teams 40. He's better than Stanback and adds some speed to this offense. Imagine him and Felix on the field. You could do alot of little screens not knowing who's getting it. He'd be our 4th reciever anyway and get us great field position. Screw it. Give them a 4th and 2011 5th.

I won't deny that he would help our Special Teams, but he would not be the #4 WR on this team. As far as being a WR goes he is very much below average, if not for his return abilities he would have been cut two years ago. I'd let the idea of Parrish coming to Dallas go, he's staying in Buffalo this year, especially with his ridiculous contract.

Seems like a steal for Jacksonville--who really needed secondary depth. This young kid, Gerald Alexander, had a great rookie year with 88 tackles and 2 picks. I love Jax's rookie WRs and 2 (Mike Thomas or Jarrett Dillard) could fit in the slot. But in the first few weeks--even though those two are suppossedly very ready for rookies--the Jags could miss Northcut.

I'm surprised the lions did this. Their WR group is not bad at all.
