"Rooting" for a team has no actual influence on the outcome of the game.

If it did, the Cowboys would never lose a game. I root for them every game.

:D
I don't know where anyone claimed it did, but thank you for the useful information.

Never. We want to win the division, and the way that we do that is Philly losing.

Go Broncos.

Finally a voice of reason. It would have to take a strange situation for me to root for the Eagles to win. Every Eagles loss is a gift to me.

We win the division anyway if we win the next two games.

So why is everyone worried about NY or Philly losing or the Vikings winning?

Oh, I forgot, no "We control our own destiny" posts. :laugh2:

P.S. Who gets the tiebreaker if Dallas and Arizona finish with the same 11-5 record?

We dont need any help to win the division. 2 wins and and Dallas hosts GB or Philly on Saturday night.

Having said that, Im not getting cocky about a playoff spot just yet. A Philly win helps our chances at a WC.

All I want is for the Giants to face the same Carolina team that Minny faced last week. One more loss for the Giants and I'm very confident we're in the playoffs.

I know it makes sense to root for Philly, but if Mcnabb starts skipping passes into the ground Ill be laughing.
And if Desean Jackson starts river dancing at the 5 yard line I cant enjoy that.

I really dont know how to do this, its impossible.

Yes - they would have it locked because they would be 2 games up on Philly with only 1 game remaining. The tie-breaker scenario would be meaningless.

My guess is they would still play their starters however.

Arizona could still get the #2 seed. They're 2 games behind Minnesota but hold the tiebreaker via head to head. So if Arizona beats St. Louis and Minnesota somehow loses to Chicago on MNF then Minnesota would play their starters against the Giants in week 17!

Can someone explain the consequences of us winning and Philly losing? Does that even help us? We will still need to beat them to win the NFC East, and if they beat us I presume they will win the NFC East based on division record...Anybody?????

I don't expect the Vikings to rest their starters for either of the final 2 games. Too much is on the line for them.
IDK Hos, Childress has already been trying to pull Favre for the last two games. It really wouldn't surprise me.

No, record-wise it doesn't really help us. Watching them lose however would definately be helpful to me personally though. :laugh2:

Different situation. Favre was getting beat up.

Minny vs Chicago is @ Chicago.

I hope the Vikings lose out but the Giants will lay down in week 17 either way now.

If Philly loses today what are the Odds Philly loses 3 in a row?

Not good.

Not bad, if you spot the first two losses.

It's official. Root for Denver. We don't need Minnesota to play their starters.

Sorry, I just CANNOT root for the Eagles.

Problem with the sound.....
