The Dallas Cowboys could not be playing a better opponent this week than the Denver Broncos.

The validity of the Cowboys' two wins is being questioned, and as much as we may hate admitting it, some of the questioning is warranted. Both victories were deeply flawed, and came against teams that are a combined 0-6.

However, with a win against the Broncos, the Cowboys will have beaten an undefeated, division-leading opponent on the road. A victory should provide them with some measure of respect and, more importantly, some confidence in the weeks ahead.

I like this match up because the Broncos' record is inflated, in my opinion. Their talent level is probably worse than their record indicates and inferior to the Cowboys' talent. The Broncos have a very good receiving corp, but their running backs are merely average and their quarterback is a journeyman. Given how the Cowboys offensive line has gashed every defense its played thus far, it's a reasonable assumption it will have similar success against the Broncos defense.

Additionally, the Cowboys (especially Romo) should not be as tight in this game as they've been over the past two weeks; this is a road game against a non-conference opponent, and Romo tends to play better on the road.

If the Cowboys are as good as many people seem to think, they should win this game. In fact, if the team plays as well as it did Monday night and can eliminate the drive-killing penalties, the Cowboys should put this game away at some point in the fourth quarter.

They have great young back in Knowshon Moreno and he's starting to breakout. Our RunD could have a hard time with their zone blocking schemes similar to what Tampa was doing to us in the first half. Hopefully we'll shut it down.

Would it be equally fair to suggest that our one loss could be easily questioned as well?

We should of beat the Giants.......we ran the ball down their throat.

you do know that they have the best offensive line in the league, and the best defensive backfield. if denvers running backs are average that means dallas's running backs are average because we are right behind them in rushing yards

judging from your post, you don't seem to know much about the Broncos...

if you think the Broncos have avg backs you're in for a real surprose come Sunday...we have the #1 RB in the draft in Knowshon Moreno and Buckhalter is averaging 8ypc...heck even Peyton Hillis is a grown man...

you also failed to mention our greatest strength, the offensive line...it's as good as it gets...Ryan Clady is making his bid as a top 5 player in the NFL...

you guys like dissing Orton, but he has a higher passer rating than Romo...

our talent level is extremely underestimated...Ryan Clady,Brandon Marshall, Champ Bailey, DJ Williams, Elvis Dumervil, Eddie Royal, Ryan Harris, Casey Weigman, Knowshon Moreno, Brian Dawkins, Vonnie Holliday are all Pro Bowl calibur players...

I know at least as much about the Broncos as you know about the Cowboys.

I know the Broncos running backs are average. Cowboys fans are quite familiar with Correll Buckhalter; he was an Eagle for many years. He's a solid back but nothing special. Knowshon Moreno is a promising rookie, but has yet to prove anything.

I know the Broncos receivers are quite good. Brandon Marshall is, indeed, "Little TO" in every possible sense of the moniker. And Eddie Royal was quite a find last season.

Kyle Orton is merely a journeyman, and his performance on the season thus far has done nothing to dispel that reputation.

FYI, the broncos have 105 yards less rushing on 27 more carries. Denver is averaging a full 2 yards less per carry than Dallas, so no they're not "right behind them."

You might get 100 yards, which means you'd have to hold our rushing game to 0 yardage to catch up. But since our offense is averaging 193.7 yards per game rushing, you'll likely only fall further behind, particularly since we'll be rushing a good bit late in the game with a large lead.

I assumed you were a Cowboys fan. Not a Donkey fan. The "we" was confusing. Didn't know what you were trying to say.

Total rushing yards per game:

Dallas: 193.7 (6.8 yards per carry)
Denver: 158.7 (4.7 yards per carry)

So Dallas is 22% higher than Denver in total yards, but a full 2 yards per carry better. Yeah, I guess that's "right behind" us...
