Denver will attack our DE's CB's

I hope the team isn't overlooking Detroit like you all are. Let's focus on the team at hand people.

I think Lynch can be taken advantage of. I think we need to put Denver in coverage situations that force Lynch to play an active role in coverage, much like teams try to do with Roy. I also hate the three TE formation. I know that BP believes it gives the flexability to max protect while still allowing for receivers to get out in the pattern, I think it limites us in our ability to apply pressure through speed. With three TEs and lets say KJ, the defense doesn't have to worry about speed to all quarters of the field. I would actually like to see us use a conventional Pro Set with KJ, Glenn, Witten and then use JJ and Barber from the split back formation. Denver has quick LBs. I think they can cover TEs. However, I think that if you use Barber and JJ in the backfield, you put them in a position where they have to honer the run to all sides of the field but you also put a tremendous amount of pressure on the LBs to cover the flats and the sidelines. They must stay disciplined to the possiblity of the backs getting out into the pattern. Really inhibits there ability to run to the football. I think you spread these guys out, you isolate Lynch and you take your shots down the field on Darrent Williams. Williams is only 5-8 188 so I think you can use Key against him pretty succesfully. I like Glenn on Champ one on one. That's what I'd like to see us try and do.

I am not worried at all about Denver. On a short week I will take a Parcells team at home over a Shannahan team on the road. It's all about coaching on a short week. Bill will have the Boys ready.

I'm quite suprised with how their defensive line is playing with our scrubs like Myers and Ekuban. The only player to worry about on there line is Trevor Pryce. Their DB's seem average to me. Champ Bailey has been beat a lot this year, but he has also been injured most of the year. The other corners seem average. Their safeties arent anything special. Lynch is a good tackler/blitzer, but not so good in coverage as he has lost some of his speed.

I don't think this is true. Gerard Warren is a pretty good DT and the combinatin of Ekuban ( you know he's going to want to prove something) along with Brown, has accounted for 25 tackles and 4 sacks. These guys use a nice DL rotation, much like we do. There defensive line can be effective.

I'm not getting ahead of Detroit b/c I think they will play us tough...

But Denver will attack Ware on rollouts and reach blocks and Sweeps as well as Ellis...

IMO Ware has fallen off the last few games and Ellis has been nowhere to be found. These guys will be challenged big time.

We need a healthy Henry as well

Almost every pass Denver throws is off a roll out.

The last few games? What, because of the stat line. Watch the games before you rush to judgement. Ware had a very good game against Arizona. Besides being constantly double teamed, he recorded a sack, and most importantly, he was more than stout against the run, forcing the play back inside. No one was worried about him in the pass rush, but coverage and run support, that's what mattered...he stepped up big in run support.

And Ware's "falling off" is because the attention he generates. You sound like every sports writer coming out and basing your analysis of the Dallas game on last night. The entire defense didn't show up. We were missing that usual fire. No one was getting off the ball quick, we weren't as animated. It wasn't just Ware.

For us, the Detroit game is key. We just had a very physical game against Philly. Denver pretty much coasted against Oakland. Denver has the Jets next, who figure to be an easy game again. If they handle NY and we struggle against Detroit, come Thursday, no amount of coaching in the world is going to save us. In a situation like this, it's about recooperation time. We can't afford to get bogged down against Detroit if we want to have a good chance against Denver.
