Here's some new information from a statement issued by Addison police regarding the arrest of Cowboys fullback Deon Anderson on outstanding traffic warrants.

Police confiscated two weapons at the scene and Anderson’s car was impounded for further investigation. No charges have been filed at this time in relation to the weapons.

The statement also noted that Anderson's brother, Devon, was arrested on charges of public intoxication.

Okay...

Now you can say adios.

Not going to help him. Hopefully Jerry helps him smooth this out and he learns his lesson. We don't know what the valet and security guard we're doing either not that it would be an excuse for the guns or tickets. The guns are a problem.

Weapons = a box cutter and a screwdriver.

Now this is going to be a problem.

Out late with a family member who's drunk and arguing with the bar employees while having weapons in the vehicle or on their person.

Not good.

Add in the recent knee troubles and the emergence of John Phillips as a very good FB who is multidimensional and Deon may just be looking at losing his job.
You know anything can be justified.

If you follow the story from the beginning. He (Deon) was trying to start the car. Meaning he was ok to drive. For whatever dumb reason, he (Deon) gets into argument w/restaurant staff. They call the police.

Deon has his name run through the system... Tickets. Most people I know pay their tickets. However, I also know a ton more people who haven't and let the crap stack up.

So he got arrested for tickets not disorderly conduct. I think that works in his favor.

Re: the weapons. I would need more info. As peplaw noted, it could be anything.

His brother being arrested for public intoxication was just the police giving him a place to sleep it off since they weren't going to let him drive away after having arrested Deon.

So all that said, I don't see this being a reason he gets cut. Phillips development would have more impact than this arrest.

Addison police arrested Dallas Cowboys fullback Deon Anderson and another man early this morning following a confrontation outside a restaurant, police said.

Officers were called on a report of an aggravated assault at BlackFinn restaurant in the 4400 block of Belt Line Road near Midway Road. Police at the scene were told there was a confrontation between several men and a restaurant valet in the parking lot.

Anderson, 27, was arrested on outstanding Irving traffic warrants, police said. Devon Anderson, 25, was arrested on a charge of public intoxication, police said. It is unclear how the two men are related.

Police also confiscated two weapons at the scene and impounded Anderson's car for further investigation. No weapons charges have been filed, police said.

Anderson was later released from jail. He declined to comment this evening. A Cowboys spokesman said the team was aware of the arrest.

A manager at BlackFinn declined comment on the incident this evening.

Anderson has been with the Cowboys since 2007.

Parking tickets = no big deal

Weapon found by Police = If the weapon was a gun or knife, he is gone.

Soooooo... they're saying he was traveling with Tebow and Buehler? Deon had WMD on him.

Anyone who makes a couple hundred-thousand a year and can't pay his tickets is an idiot and shouldn't be on this team.

We want smart players only please. :starspin

:hammer: :hammer:

What's his excuse gonna be? "UHHH, I thought paying your tickets was optional"????

This is Texas: Even the hippies here have guns, and know how to use them.....

Not illegal to have guns in your car under various circumstances as well.

The importance of this story depends on details that we don't know yet.

I was under the impression that Cricket had done a pretty good job at FB and special teams. Certainly, the three TE, 2RB package used him alot.

We can do better at FB. Dumb for a fringe player. I like the guy but we can do better.

Cricket is one of our best special teams players. He isn't going anywhere.

No, people say that he's one of our best special teams players. He asctually does nothing. 4 tackles on special teams, 1 reception for 5 yards, and 0 rushing attempts is easily replaceable. I've begged for a new FB for 2 years now, looks like I'll get my wish.

Hahaha...some of you are just down right funny! Get a life, Cricket does a good job. Everyone has problems. This will certainly be a lesson for him, but I don't see this resulting in his being cut. I could be wrong, but... And by the way, this is TEXAS. Gun laws are a bit different in this state.

This jack *** should of been cut after he missed that block and Romo's pinkie got broken **** him.

Does the spell the end for Deon?

If his arrest is just about a traffic violation then no it should not be the end of him in Dallas.

That would only be the case if it was used for fighting with the restaurant staff, simply finding them in a car would not be reason to list them as weapons.

I'm with the others. You make good money, pay your damn tickets idiot.
