Walker is not stronger, or heavier, than Vea lmao - basically nobody is - and Vea has a lower center of gravity because he is shorter and has a stockier build. The point is that they are different types of players, which you, being all knowledgeable, should know.

You're arrogant, but not smart.
you clearly failed football 101
longer arms mean a longer reach
and calling them different types of players is kind of dumb
they are both maulers

I know exactly what longer arms means which is why Walker and Vea are not the same type of player. Walker is not a mauler in the way that Vea is, whatever that is supposed to mean. He wins with reach and athleticism, Vea wins, and always has, with pure power. Saying Chris Jones and Vita Vea are the same player is dumb, and Jones is the prototype for walker.

I'm sorry you haven't yet graduated Football 101 to understand the nuance. Let me know when you enter 2024.

Lifelong #BNN ...born & raised

See him progress....he's obviously HUGE & becoming quite freakishly strong - worked really hard to get where he is

I'd take him in a heartbeat

Funny I watched both players in college and VIta in the pros and you are completely blind to see how similar they are
best example this year on Walker was in the Alabama game where I watched him punish the entire center of Alabamas O line. Brutal agressiveness

They are stylistically nothing alike. Vea wins exclusively with straight line power and with a strong stack and shed to disengage. Walker uses length and burst to create space against OL and then a variety of passrush moves to defeat blockers - he rushes like an edge.

Walker does a bunch of things here that Vea never did - especially:10, :15, :20 and :25.

You don't know what you are watching if you think they are the same type of player. Sorry.

lmao. "The basic nature is the same" is just a fancy way of saying "I'm too lazy to learn the nuance of a position."

Football 101 suits you. I'm glad you learned it in 1975 and then never learned anything else.

That Longhorns OL making Walker look like a chump.

I wish we could draft that entire Horns OL.
Watching some of it he is getting double and triple teamed so maybe you want to think about it?
His stats this year are way down but then again the overall talent on their D line is down and the offenses can concentrate on him.
This is actually good; he will be easier to draft

Every team double and triple teams him. There is a top 5 first round OT and a possible 1st round guard on that Texas OL. And that center is as good as they come.

Exactly, and I think if we can get him in round 2, as I think we should be able to, we could really boost our trenches. Guard or RB round 1, Walker round 3, and guard or RB round 3 would be a great first 3 picks.

In fairness to Vita Vea, he has some pretty freaky movement ability for his size. Can't find the clip on Youtube, but Vea played up-back on the punt team at Washington and once made a tackle 40 yards downfield.

But Vea's strength is like superpower level - he's one of the strongest men in a league full of freakishly strong men. In college, Vea's power was just unfair.

Walker's power is a long ways off of "unfair" level. His agility for a 350 lb man is at the superpower, unfair level, but I'd say his strength on tape looks below average for a first-round DT prospect. He almost plays like a giant Maliek Collins type 3 tech.

You can't teach Walker's combo of size, speed, and quickness, but Mazi proved that a 330 lb man can wrestle way below his weight if he doesn't stay low. And Walker doesn't do a very good job of staying low. I think he has a very high ceiling and a very low floor.

I think his floor is higher than you think because he loves to play. That is the big difference between him and Mazi

This…his 2023 season inflated his stock and has him a little overrated IMO.

If I may weigh in on this, I do not see Vita Vea on this video. I see Calais Campbell or someone of that ilk. I would have to see more, but he plays high on this video and in the NFL that will get him shoved around. He could be like Javon Kinlaw who struggled in the NFL, although he is playing much better with the Jets now.

This is a good class of DTs I think, but I worry that after failing miserably with Mazi, coach Jones may not want to risk another DT pick. I prefer the kid from Michigan, but taking another DT from Michigan may be an even greater longshot.

we have GOT to improve our DTs greatly or nothing else is really going to matter. Teams will run it down our throat when it matters
