Depth doesn't mean much if the starters aren't good

They signed two former #1 picks and a former #2 pick so the players have talent.

They just haven't done as much as they probably should have. In most cases, injury was a issue.

The Cowboys had some success fixing broken 1st rounders before. Malik Hooker turned his career around and if just one of these guys can do the same it may be worth it.

Besides, one way to prevent expensive free agents is to make your guys better. If these new Cowboys can at least provide some competition then there is no better incentive to improve.

To no surprise, the Dallas Forbes Cowboys are signing a bunch of rotational guys. Which one of these guys is going to make any significant difference? How about we overpay for good players instead of journeymen for once?

Looking good on Forbes though:flagwave:
When you finally just accept that NFL is a huge business and owners and many players are in in it first and foremost to make money for themselves, then the rest of this stuff won't bother you as much.

A guys with 8 years experience in the league is not going to turn things around in Dallas. If that's how we are picking players to sign it is no wonder we haven't sniffed a SB in 30 years.

The guys we signed are backups at best. The over under on how many are on this team when the regular season starts is probably 2. There's a reason these guys are on short contracts for little money.

Hooker's problem in Indy was injuries. He has managed to stay healthy in Dallas but he has been pretty average most of the time. I would say he was a better safety, when healthy, than Thomas or Turn are that their positions. We'll see if they turn out to be anything more than JAGs. I would have signed Lawson or even Golston before I signed Turner.

losers love this kind of talk

just because players have talent means NOTHING
What have they done? What have they produced?
The boys have managed to get lucky on one or two of these out of how MANY?

Well that's a positive spin.
Unfortunitly, Jerry has mismanaged the team so badly he's not getting much benefit of the doubt round these parts.

Point made........we're back to roster selection, roster formulation and player development continuing in question......and the oldest GM in the league with a Front Office following suit. This is the root to the problem.......not the players or player. Cowboys rank 28th in Free Agent spending over the last few years. The business & marketing acumen is A+......the football operation acumen is remedial. No need to harp on bashing the players. This isn't that hard to detect.

Until you fix the QB, the rest is just busy work.
One of the times I agree with you.
An elite QB can make a huge difference.

Elite QB or decent QB surrounded by great talent.
It is not the same argument which it better, or who make who. Shutdown CB's or elite pass rushers. Who makes who better.

Give me a top notch QB.

the irony here is you guys act like we have a game tomorrow or Friday or next week we still have 5 months before game one we haven't even got to the draft yet and you guys are crying like a bunch of spoiled toddlers seriously three days in you need all these guys the guys they resigned that were either gonna leave or come back very important and role players are very important some of these guys could be starters I think the irony here is players like kendricks and Fowler and others just to mention a few and they brought over the guys that nobody thought were gonna be any good from the UFL in Aubrey Turpin and Butler they got undrafted free agents brought over here they're now starters like Hoffman and none of you guys like these moves but if you gave it a chance you never know you could find a starter or two or a very good rotational player which by the way the defensive lines rotate guys regularly anyway even if you have a top flight starter especially the inside guys they're being rotated a lot so you need really good depth it doesn't need to be a big gap from your first guy to your second guy..

Some of y'all need to give this a chance I even remember Robert Quinn but I I look at some of these guys like I look at Fowler or kendricks they do have something still left to offer and we don't know what it is yet until we see it but we are only three days into the process five months ago we haven't even got to the draft yet you guys are crying give it a rest we know how you feel but this isn't over it's far from over it's just beginning you know how many free agents are still out there I bet 150 and there are more gonna be cut lots get after the draft there are a lot of good players that are not even out there yet that will be out there and you remember those years where they traded for Gilmore and cooks they got great deals from them and you cried when Gilmore left but you thought they were bargain basement deals and it turns out they actually could play it may be short term but they could play

Fish said they cant get rid of Dak for at least 2 years.
It might be possible with a trade , that dak would have to agree to.

The contract they gave dak makes it near impossible to get rid of him anytime soon.

Haha right. Stay the course. The captain in charge of the ship knows exactly what he’s doing.

That contract hasn't even started yet. So dumb that they did that

Was thinking about that with Hooker. He was a big time playmaker that couldn’t stay on the field.

Has been mostly healthy since coming to Dallas but also stopped making plays. He is worth his contract but is kinda just there.

Can’t recall a player that was similar.
