It looks like the Derrick Burgess situation in Oakland is getting ugly! The Cowboys have plenty of cap room to be able to give him the contract that frankly he deserves with his production. He is a supreme pass rusher in the prime of his career and would be awesome on the other side of Ware.
Maybe the Cowboys call Al Davis and offer a high draft pick for his rights??
In the draft there appears to be one sure thing at DL in Gaines Adams. Jarvis Moss could free fall with character questions. Moses took last year off in college. Other than that there doesnt appear to be the type of 3-4 pass rusher hybrid available this year.

something to think about anyway

So you think Jerry would pay him all the money that Oakland won't so he can play linebacker in Dallas?

I doubt seriously Dallas will persue him when they could easily draft Anthony Spencer or Jarvis Moss..

I don't know if I'd give #22 but I might pony up a 3rd. For sure a 4th.

He's tied with Merriman in the most sacks in the NFL the last two years. I don't see anyway Oakland is going to let him go.

You gotta wonder how Philly let this talent slip through their fingers, seeing as how Jim Johnson is "aggressive" and "doesn't use vanilla schemes" and "does ask them to just beat the guy in front of you" and all of that stuff that matters.

Rob Ryan uses 3-4 and 4-3 fronts. He played mostly 4-3 last year. Burguess had 16 sacks the year before as an OLB in the 3-4.

Wow... Let Ellis put his hand down, with Ware and Burgess coming off the edge. That would be unstoppable.

Burgess didn't shine untell he signed with the raiders. which is a mystery all its own. and i'd rather roll the dice on the younger faster stronger guy gettin the 16 sacks then the older getting slower and weaker guy

Thanks, thats whyi was confused i guess.

That 16 sack OLB stat I think is worth at least looking into. If he could be had for a 3rd maybe even 2nd rounder I would be for it.
