  • DERRICK HENRY RB, TENNESSEE TITANS

Speaking in an interview last week, impending free agent Derrick Henry said Ezekiel Elliott's six-year, $90 million contract is "the floor" for what he will be seeking.
Elliott's deal included $50 million guaranteed, with $28 million of that guaranteed at signing. Henry later said he misunderstood host Rich Eisen's question, but it's not exactly rocket science where his agent will start out in talks. Those are the kind of numbers a running back might get from an in-house extension, but it's been a long time since a runner broke the bank like that on the open market. Henry is one of the more fascinating free agent cases in recent memory.

Zeke's deal was huge, but he had two years of ELC to spread out signing bonus IIRC and lower dead cap hits if he falters in a few years. This is Zeke's 5th year option in 2020. The 6 years start after this season but there would of been 2 years of prorated signing bonus hits taken off by 2021.

Henry's huge extension will start on a clean slate.

Ridiculous. Henry will cash in but nobody is making an error bigger than the one Jerry made last year.

Lol he averaged 750 yards a season till this year lol he ain't getting Zeke $
Cowboys paid for past production, Titans will pay for future.

Too bad Zeke has rolled his fat, slow *** off the cliff.

That usually all it takes to get paid big nowadays. #1 rusher in the NFL last year.

His performances in the playoffs vs the Pats and Ravens help his cause too.

They may be desperate enough to give him a deal that would average 15mil+ a year.

The Zeke takes are usually bad.

But this one is particularly horrible.
it is, I meant to make it dramatic. Zeke is fine but Henry is going to get paid.

Zeke has lost whatever breakaway speed he had tho.

Zeke is so much better than Henry it's not even funny. Breakaway speed only matters for fantasy football.

Henry might get more than Zeke, but that's because it's just how contracts work.

would have been cool to get some real points from him breakaway for a touchdown but I guess him scoring is bad since that would benefit fantasy football players

They should probably hold on to Gurley for one more year. Dead cap is 3 times less if they do. I guess they're looking for some trade value while he has it.

He finished 4th in rushing on a team that threw for almost 5k yards lol

You should really look things up before posting them as fact on here. Henry lead the league in rushing this year with 1540 yards.
