Derrick Henry contract talks

Henry is bigger and faster than Zeke. Zeke was considered the better prospect coming out of college b/c he was more elusive and assumed harder to stop. The more carries Henry has gotten, the more that's been proven a myth.

Henry is not elusive at all.. He's a 1 cut / straight ahead guy.

The thing about RB's though.. Just give any of them carries and they will produce similar results.

Where exactly did I say Henry was elusive? My point is that Zeke was thought of as the better prospect b/c HE was more elusive. Time has shown that Henry's running style is every bit as effective if not more so than Zekes.

I would argue that they are all effective. I don't value great talent at RB unless it's something ridiculously special like young Adrian Peterson or 2016 Ezekiel Elliot.

For the most part just give me a decently talented runner and give him carries and he will produce.

There is no need to spend 1st round picks and pay these guys a ton of money.

If you want to be good at running the ball all you really need to do is run the ball.

Zeke is easily better then Henry IMO but give me the guy thats cheaper.

Lots of people full of regret in this thread.Elliott was the BPA available at that spot, and arguably still is. I know hindsight is 2020. He's also two years younger than Henry and in the end Henry may get a bigger contract. That team doesn't have much talent spread out.

Cheaper is always better at rb. Look at the Niners 3-headed nobody attack. You don't have to pay that position.

  • DERRICK HENRY RB, TENNESSEE TITANS

Speaking in an interview last week, impending free agent Derrick Henry said Ezekiel Elliott's six-year, $90 million contract is "the floor" for what he will be seeking.
Elliott's deal included $50 million guaranteed, with $28 million of that guaranteed at signing. Henry later said he misunderstood host Rich Eisen's question, but it's not exactly rocket science where his agent will start out in talks. Those are the kind of numbers a running back might get from an in-house extension, but it's been a long time since a runner broke the bank like that on the open market. Henry is one of the more fascinating free agent cases in recent memory.
