Derrick Henry

Pretty good company

Both Walker and Bo were wwwaaayyy faster than Derrick Henry. Don't get me wrong, I think Henry will be good behind the Cowboys line. But if you can get to him before he makes his first cut or gets his shoulders square, you can take him down. He doesn't have the quickness to get through holes like Walker and Bo did. But if he hits a hole and gets past the line of scrimmage, he's going to be a load to take down.

I'm intrigued. If he's there in the second, sign me up. No way do I go runningback in high/middle 1 unless he is special. Late rd1 is fine. Typically players from 24-40 at similar in talent

Just a few yards shy of 2000 for the season.......did you see how BIG that kid is....and I use the term "kid" loosely!

This isn't really true if you take a second look. He's actually very nimble behind the line before he hits the hole, has good footwork and the guy has some break away speed.

It's pretty rare for a guy his size.

What's not true? That Bo Jackson and Herschel Walker aren't faster than Derrick Henry?
Uh, yes, it IS true. Derrick Henry isn't as fast as either of those Heisman Trophy winners. It's not even close.
Henry's strength is his power. He wears teams down, then he breaks into the clear and he's off. He's kind of like Emmitt Smith in that regard.
But in now way is Henry as fast as Bo and Herschel.

Pretty sure he's referring to you saying this

I don't think anyone is going to debate that Henry is faster than Bo or Herschel. Actually, I'm wondering why you ever wanted to discuss those three in terms of ability, the first picture you responded to was just showing Henry nearly breaking the record of games with 200+ rushing in a single season.

Thanks for the clarification. However, the fact Henry nearly broke the single season rushing record doesn't negate what I said. Henry has been stopped several times when he moves parallel to the line. And much of his yardage comes late in the game when the defense is tired.
He's a good back, don't get me wrong. I just don't think he is as good as Herschel or Bo and definitely doesn't have their speed.

Elliot is better than Henry, his style will translate into the pro game.

We go through this same debate EVERY year with whomever Alabama has at RB since Saban has been there all the way back to the Heisman winner Ingram. Not one of them has been an impactful pro. In fact, one got traded almost immediately and benched. I think you have to go back to Shaun Alexander to find Alabama putting out a hugely successful pro RB, and he was pre-Saban era. Alabama and Wisconsin (despite changing coaches they maintain nearly the same offense and philosophy) are great programs for college RBs since they always have dominant OLs and they pound, pound, pound the ball. But their RBs just haven't had much success in the pros.
