We know in this past draft that the cowboys really liked Leonard Floyd. Now it could of just been him as a player but looking at DE's in this draft should we try to pick players with similar size, speed, traits?

Harold Landry is the 1st that comes to mind. Can play either DE or 3-4 OLB which is something i would take advantage of. DE for base downs. Stand him up and use to blitz on 3 and long. Best part is we may have a chance at him with all the edge rushers making a name for themselves. one or 2 of them have to drop or at least an absolute stud LB or DB will drop.

I do like Landry's game. He's one of the better pure pass rushers

Surprisingly one of the better run defenders as well.

We need a pure speed rusher. I don't care how undersized they are and how bad they play the run...we just need someone quick who can tee off and rush.

Mayowa is that person and is too small when a OT gets their hands on him. For a pass rushing DE that lines up over the other teams LT The guy has to be no lighter than 250 or they will run at him or just maul him until he is gassed in the 3rd qtr.

Landry is my #1 choice.

I second the Landry pick...................I mean, c'mon. HIS LAST NAME IS LANDRY!!!!!!!!!!!!! It's his DESTINY to be in Dallas..................so, 31 other teams better recognize this.

Seriously though, the kid is a BEAST. Even though FSU has beaten them 2 years in a row, this kid was basically in their backfield BOTH of those games.

This.................and then Tank can move back to his NOW (since he's gained around 20 lbs.), more natural LDE spot. His quickness is gone, but he still has some power to his game. Crawford needs to move back to 3T..............or, be traded to get out of that TERRIBLE contract.

I think that is a prefered type for them. They liked similar DE's in past drafts.

I can see them falling in love with McKinley. But I think he will be well out of our range. I could see him as a trade up target if he doesnt rise too much. Gotten some Demarcus Ware comparisons

I like Devonte Fields too. I'd play him at SAM and use him as a blitzer like Denver used Von Miller early on.

What we need is pressure off the edge, so...

1. Taco Charlton
2. Harold Landry
3. Fields

I know he is not those guys but he was brought in to be situational speed rusher nothing else.
All Mayowa has is the athleticism to be a speed rusher and thats it. Hes the type of player you put at the end of the depth chart and develop like we tried with Ryan Russell. We basically went out and signed someone elses Ryan Russell to be our pass rush specialist.

I never said he was good but by his size and weight and player bio he was ment to be speed guy only on obvious passing downs. His success is a different story. Personally I think he is a bum and would rather have mincey or selvie back.

He'd be the guy to stack a side like Philly or Ravens do.........show 3 coming---just dont know which 1, or 2...or even 3. Instant Pressure. That look from Philly and the Ravens over Free gives our Oline pressure every time, heck it even drew a holding call on Zeke last nite If I reccolect.
