There is no way that you could make me believe that his on the field benefit would trump the crap he would bring on the rest of the team. Just not worth it, IMO.

You get those building blocks by the draft. They are expensive, hungry and young. Free Agency is filled with over the hill players or players who had one good season and are looking to get paid. This is that rare occurrence that you get a player still in his prime and just coming off a Pro Bowl. If you have the money you do it. He wouldn't be a luxury in my eyes. I see Dez Bryant and a bunch of #3's and 4's in our receiving core.

My 2 cents? I'd love to have him, headache and all. There may be drama that come's with him, but, at least, it would be entertaining. Having said that, 1. I don't think Desean Jackson would be caught dead in a Cowoboys uniform and 2. he probably want's BIG money the Cowboys don't have.
