On my way into work today, every national sports talk radio station was talking about how bad DWatson is and how screwed cleveland is with his contract. Apparently, he still has 170M million left on his deal and its ALL gauranteed. They literally can't move on from him. This is on top of the 3 first round picks they gave up to Houston who turned those picks into 5 guys starting for them now.

One guy said it was one of the worst trades in NFL history and second only to the Hershel Walker trade.

It's been 4 years since Watson was any good. He didn't play in 2021. He played here and there for the next two years. This was week 1. I'm guessing he's never ever again going to be that QB he was on the Texans. But this season will confirm it one way or the other.

Don't disagree.....but in all fairness......just lost his father. We'll see which way he goes down the road, but we know the narrative will come back to his pay.

The trade occurred in March 2022 and Watson has yet to play a full season worth of games for the Browns. That alone makes it a bad trade. It typically will cost a team either a big contract or a high draft pick(or a few) to get their so called franchise QB. It cost the Browns both. It would be tough for anyone to play a good game after their father passed away. That doesn't excuse the rest of his time he has spent with the Browns.
